No. I talked to Jay less than two weeks ago and he made it very clear that this is not in the cards. He is now completely retired from teaching, and don't be surprised if his reign as Head Coach ends pretty soon. He told me this year will be his 48th year of coaching in Woodsfield.pvcguy wrote:Any truth to the roomer that circosta is going to stay three more years to see sophomore class graduate.

One thing I've learned is never count Monroe out in the league. Fort has only beat them 3 times since 2000.Also Monroe almost beat Fort last year.
Re: Pioneer Valley Conf 2016
Will be be ready for the seeson? Who is calling BT offense and defense this year? I know Heartmeyer brought the wing t to BT. Will the new staff run that or not? I am betting Trail opens it up. They will be athletic but small.
I know Shenandoah will be more wide open with their athletes
Caldwell will probably run the wing t that's what Grant knows best
Frontier will be wide open they were last year
Monre Central will be opened up since Jorris got Circosta off the wing t
I am betting Fort goes away from wing t as Tate gets older
I am excited can you tell.

Fort Frye technically runs the spread wing T but it is not your normal wing T. They went away for it often last year. They run a bunch of different stuff with it.
Re: Pioneer Valley Conf 2016
I no what you are talking about. As Tater continues to grow I think they could do more out of it. Shenandoah will run the pro as long as Wellsy is around.

I thought last season Trail got away from the wing-t as well. Maybe I'm confusing them with someone else.

Trail was almost all wing T last year vs Fort. They lost 30-8 but they kept it close for awhile. The tiny RB was tough.
Re: Pioneer Valley Conf 2016
Yes Trail was wing t last year heartmeyer was the godfather of that offense around hear.

I think Trail is running the wing-t again this year. I heard they went to the National Wing-T Convention in Pittsburgh this past February.

Re: Pioneer Valley Conf 2016
Maybe they will show a different style of the wing-t. I personally like the wing-t when the fullback is truly isolated and the feature back, (almost like a one-back offense with wings) and the offense is still balanced between run and pass. I don't care for wing-t's that are ran and almost every play is wasting seconds in the backfield with jets, reverses, counters, double counters, etc. Those are good plays when set up I think, but I hate seeing them ran all the time. They lose their effectiveness and it just turns into wasted time behind the LOS.
Re: Pioneer Valley Conf 2016
Offensives today are evolving and teams run stuff that looks like new Offensives but really just making changes. For example 20 years ago a jet sweep was ran from strictly wing t now it is ran out of everything. Offensives are changing.

Re: Pioneer Valley Conf 2016
Fort Frye has been super successful with the jet sweep out of shotgun as well as the counter off of it.

Re: Pioneer Valley Conf 2016
The Jet is certainly killer if you have the speed for it and also sometimes overlooked, the blocking at the receiver positions for it. Fort Frye obviously has the tools to run that and the counter off of it soundly. I really hope to get an opportunity if not multiple opportunities to watch them play this season.
