Last year the Cadets went 10-0 but this year I think they will be on a different level.

Not sure about what everyone returns in the region but I'm almost positive a first round matchup with barnesville is the ideal outcome of realistic possibilities. River would probably be 2nd best but don't see them making it in this year.EasternDspy wrote:Number 1 goal is to win that first playoff game.

Week 2 will tell the tale in the PVC as Caldwell hosts Buckeye Trail on a Thursday Night (Noble County Fair) Week. Gives each team a chance to solidify the #2 ranking in the pvc and should be solid playoff points with both teams hovering between 5-7 wins

From reports Fort Frye looked pretty good last night. They beat Morgan 16-0 in down and distance and South Point 12-8.They had a few mistakes on defense but it's early on in the season. Offense will be very good.

Hearing Shenadoah held serve vs Bellaire. Big Reds failed to score in the scrimmage.

Fort Frye tied with Southern today. Southern is actually pretty good this year. Cadets were missing players as well.

Heard Caldwell played well against Belpre and Williamstown. This town is about to explode with the fair board not letting the team play the opener there because it's a week before the fair. Saw it is now being played at Marietta college. At least the school stood its ground and pulled the week two Thursday night fair game. Saw its going to be played at Shenandoah on that Friday. Caldwell needs their own field

I hate how far the players seem from the field at the fairgrounds. One thing I do like is the shelter if it rains

Be nice if Caldwell had there own field and a place for visiting team to dress/shower. Has to be the roughest field around as well there at the fairgrounds.

A guy who was there told me the varsity did score once. Bellaire's only score came on Zeps JV. I didn't see it, that's just what I heard.pvcguy wrote:Shenandoah didn't score win varsity was playing.

With Monroes lack of depth upfront I think they will rely on quick passes to Lefollette and Trey Duffy. I think Hooper could have a nice season running the ball.

As a Caldwell fan, I would love to see us have our own field. We tried once to pass a levy for new school and athletic facility, but you can imagine how well that went over.
People have thought I am crazy, but I would like to see, at a minimum, Caldwell and Shenandoah build an athletic complex with football field, track and diamonds. Something that could be shared by both schools and maintained as well. It can be done.....many schools share facilities. Ideally Caldwell needs their own, but I would accept either one. Anything to get away from the fairgrounds!!!!

Tackles Jordan Baker and Owen Matheny of Fort Frye are 2 of the best lineman in the PVC

Anyone can battle for the #2 spot and on. #1 not up for debate is Sheldon Archer of CaldwellEasternDspy wrote:Tackles Jordan Baker and Owen Matheny of Fort Frye are 2 of the best lineman in the PVC

Archer is going to have a tough year with double teams the kids a beast and the best lineman in the league but he's in for some long nights.
