Re: TVC Hocking 2016
"To be the man, you have to beat the man!" There's no doubt everybody in the TVC Hocking is chasing Trimble. They have to be the favorites again, although I think there may be a lot of parody in the league this year.
Re: TVC Hocking 2016
i think south gallia may be much better then people think. they dont look to explosive... but they are huge up front. 3 yards and a cloud of dust.

Fort Frye scrimmaged at Southern today and from what I'm hearing the Tornados are tough. Teams tied at 2 TDs each in the down and distance. Fort Frye did have quiet a few guys injured.

First 10 plays Fort Frye moved the ball to about mid fieldEasternDspy wrote:Fort Frye scrimmaged at Southern today and from what I'm hearing the Tornados are tough. Teams tied at 2 TDs each in the down and distance. Fort Frye did have quiet a few guys injured.
Next 10 plays Southern got inside the 10 yard line but failed to score.
Next 10 plays Fort Frye moved the ball to about mid field
Next 10 plays Southern "scored" on deep pass but would have been off. pass interference
Down and Distance Fort Frye Scored in about 7 plays
Down and Distance Southern scored in about 7 plays
I would say Southern outgained Fort Frye in yardage due to a strong passing game but it was a very close scrimmage.
As noted- Fort Frye had several players out.
Fort Frye was 10-0 last year and return 17 Seniors
Southern was 4-6 last year and return 11 Seniors
JV
First 10 plays Southern scored on play 10
Next 10 plays Fort Frye moved to about mid field
Next 10 plays Southern failed to score inside 10 yard line
Next 10 plays Fort Frye moved to about mid field
Southern seemed to control the JV portion

We can all agree that the Hocking is still Trimble playground until someone knocks them off, so.......
Which team has the best chance to knock Trimble off the mountain?

I think Trimble is the KING but Belpre seems to be going in the right direction with back to back 8-2 seasons and playoff appearances.Orange and Brown wrote:We can all agree that the Hocking is still Trimble playground until someone knocks them off, so.......

Re: TVC Hocking 2016
Southern people I get that your excited about this year and I'm very happy for you getting a coach like Chancey is great he will get the most out of those kids not mentioning getting them in the weight room but let's relax on saying that this team will win the league running away
To be the team you'll have you beat that team from Glouster and that's no small task by any means and don't sleep on Waterford either
Good luck to all the Hocking teams

I didn't say they was going to be horrible lol I think they will have a good team this year and they will play hard hopefully everyone can healthy
Trimble stays #1 until someone beats them but I will say the league will be closer than most think time will tell

If I know Coach Chancey, Southerns only concern right now is Frontier... They aren't going to sleep on anybody.
Trimble is the favorite dispute who has the most votes on the poll and everyone knows that... But it's great to see Southern so excited about football.
Just as you said to be the champ you gotta beat the champ and Trimble is and has been for quite sometime the champs!
After week one you'd have to say Waterford had the most impressive weekend!
Miller had the most disappointing weekend but could easily regroup from their mistakes and make some noise.
Southern had a come from behind victory over a very good Portsmouth Notre Dame team after losing star player Jaylan Blanks who took the opening kick off return for a touchdown and had two int's (one that set up another touchdown) in the first qtr of play before leaving the game with an injury partway through the first qtr.
Belpre, Eastern, Federal Hocking and South Gallia all played tough opponents and took one on the chin.
Wahama beat a neighboring bigger school Ravenswood which is huge for that program to try and get back on track even if they Ravenswood is down right now they should beat Wahama on their down years.
Trimble lost to a very good Nelsonville York team but played good defense as usual and have some offensive weapons.
It's going to be a fun competive year in the Hocking!
