I must admit, the intelligence level of the posts on this thread has hit rock bottom.
Re: WEEK 1 IRONTON @WHEELERSBURG -- YOUR THOUGHTS.
Hey boys, I'm not saying Ironton is the greatest team ever by no stretch. They have places that definitely need work. As far as teams at Ironton in the past ten years, this is probably our best. We will have to have a good game against Burg to win. Should this game go without a bunch of turnovers and penalties I do believe Ironton is the better team. Is that saying that Ironton is the best team ever. Not hardly. Burg this year is way down from last year. Let's all get real. Burg was great the past two seasons and this year look to be in a building year. With that being said, I would still put them in the top three area teams.

And so it begins, the attempt to deflate the previous boasts, turning back the rhetoric a couple notches to more reasonableness.
Sometime beginning Friday night around 10PM there will be the following lists of reasons I predict to explain the loss.
1. Bob Lutz is not here
2. Bob Lutz is not here
3. Bob Lutz is not here
4. We are too predictable on play calling, we didn't let the D1 horses loose, kept them stabled up
5. Did I mention Bob Lutz
6. The guys that we were supposed to get back this week just didn't get cleared in time to play, but look out for the next 9 weeks
7. Bob Lutz.
8. Cramps and conditioning.
9. Bob Lutz.

Re: WEEK 1 IRONTON @WHEELERSBURG -- YOUR THOUGHTS.
heck yeah I have fast forward button and these tigers wont like it but this game is toast right out of gate look for burg to score and score often and 1 more time I'm gonna say SCORE lots and often LOL! Ironton lost a decent good team last year that had GOOD defense!! replace that ? NO WAY!! and we all know the offense of ironton is predictable and takes no chances!!BurgGrad6 wrote:Anyone have a fast forward button for this week? I hope ironton is everything that ibtt says they are! Otherwise I'll have to wait and watch the buckeyes play to see a team that good. Heck they might not even be as good as the tigers this year. Any way, I'm just ready for some hs football! 48minutes of young men giving everything they have to win a game they love! Good luck to all teams as they start their season off! And most of all, good luck Pirates!
would love to see the tigers win but this is BLOWOUT 52-6 maybe 52-14
clock will run and soon!!!!
Re: WEEK 1 IRONTON @WHEELERSBURG -- YOUR THOUGHTS.
Did you watch the 2014 Ironton Tigers? That was a very good team, they just caught burg with a good one too. So saying this team is better than that is saying something.IBTT wrote:Hey boys, I'm not saying Ironton is the greatest team ever by no stretch. They have places that definitely need work. Not worried at all about Ironton. Their defensive is a sieve. Pass coverage was turrible and the LBs can't find the ball.

I wouldn't worry too much about the ironton hype, it is coming from the same guy that says that crap every year and by all accounts he is a blow hard. We do need tougher opponents to get ready for the playoffs as the speed changes at that level and it can be a shock if you aren't used to seeing better teams.

I hope both coaches tell their players to stay away from these places. Know one knows who's behind these chat walls and what their true motives are.
Re: WEEK 1 IRONTON @WHEELERSBURG -- YOUR THOUGHTS.
I thought game #1 last year the Pirate coaches played things WAY to close to the vest and left Ironton in the game. The Pirates are still trying to find their identity after only a couple scrimmages and many new players but the talent is there. Once the line gels this should be a very nice team. I have not seen Ironton play this year but Ironton people that I know are not very positive about what they've seen thus far. This game won't make or break anyone's season but the bragging rights are nice to have.
Go Pirates.
Go Pirates.

Re: WEEK 1 IRONTON @WHEELERSBURG -- YOUR THOUGHTS.
Here's the thing IBTT. People have said that for the past 4 years. But let me tell you my friend. Burg is reloaded. Yes there are things that they need to polish up. But as I told BurgGrad6 earlier. By the end of the regular season Burg will be running like a well oiled machine. Right now they need work, even with that said, there is no one around that can knock them off. Just wait and see. You may have a kid on the team (complete guess but seems legitimate) and I hope he has one heck of a game. But in the end, Burg is going to have their way.IBTT wrote:Hey boys, I'm not saying Ironton is the greatest team ever by no stretch. They have places that definitely need work. This is just as conceded a comment as the Ironton guyP(irate) wrote:By the end of the regular season Burg will be running like a well oiled machine. Right now they need work, even with that said, there is no one around that can knock them off.

Is it conceded? Or is it fact? Name the team to do it.
