This game should be determined at the line. If we can open up holes like we did against Valley we'll be fine but we can't just hand the ball to a freshman in his second game and expect him to do it all.

How is the arm of the QB?? Can he sling it?
As mentioned earlier, I was really impressed with the zero penalties on our line in the last game. Watching the Ironton game, they had six false starts in a row on the opening drive. Bottom line, the kids are buying in to the fundamentals. Really anxious to see how this young team can come together. Boys and girls, if Portsmouth can continue the clean penalty free game on the line (can't have those personal foul penalties) and reduce turnovers, they will win some games. Lets get one more!! 2-0 sounds beautiful at this point.

He did a good job managing the game and hit one good pass in the endzone. Arm strength doesn't seem to be an issue, he just needs to get some snaps in.

West had 2 playoff appearances, 11 and 14. also from the look at previous scores extra points may be big in this one. Going with west because
of swarming defense. Also I'm sure coach knows if he stops Parker and eliminates a foot race, the game will be easier to control.

Portsmouth wins this one with no problem. You can try to stop the run, but good luck.

Purdy has a good head for the game and makes good decisions plus he is dangerous on the ground just as well as Parker. As far as his arm it's there just wasn't really a situation where it was needed.
Portsmouth wins this one by a couple scores atleast.

Nice to see some buzz on here about the Trojans. It's been really quiet for a few years, rightfully so, sadly.

This team is young and may not be impressive in the W-L area but, I'm looking for solid fundamentals and competitive football. I know it's a week out but, Portsmouth will be Burgs toughest test of the young season. I'd love to see the Trojans give those Pirates a good game into the fourth. It would benefit both teams. I apologize for bringing up that game. Let's get this one first. I'm excited about this team.

I don't predict games to take the homer out of me, so objectively speaking, I want to see the Trojans continue to improve in all 3 facets of the game......offense, defense, and special teams. Our Trojans have only played 1 game, and even though it is exciting to finally start the season 1-0, it is still 1-0. Is Portsmouth improved? Yes, no question. Hopefully our kids will stay the course on getting better each week.

The voice of reason. Glad to have you talking Trojan football again! Hope this team is still playing meaningful football into the final weeks!

West needs to control the edge and force Parker to the middle.

He can break the big one up the middle just as easy if the line is blocking. Again, I can't wait to see if Portsmouth executes the fundamentals. This one will be fun.

I didn't say he could but it is a lot harder when you run into the teeth of the defense.

West has good speed and tackling ability from their outside linebackers and corners. They've already faced a guy of similar ability to Parker in #1 from Fairland and did ok. Fairland had a better power back to team him with in Fisher and a good quarterback. Don't know that Portsmouth has a between the tackles bruiser?

Your not gonna stop Portsmouth totally with a guy like Parker. Got to make them go the long field and earn it. Just stop the big play. I would be more concerned with the quarterback runs.

I sure hope it's not a close one. I could use an old fashion sider beat down.

He took two up the middle last week one for 35 and 1 for 40 a shoestring tackle is all that stopped him on both. We will spread them out and pound it..
