Did he transfer simply for football? If so, why? Didn't Southern and Gallia Academy win about the same number of games this year?
Re: Offical Topic of 2008 Southern Baseball
If Golden wouldn't have gotten hurt Gallia would have had a totally different season.

Marnhout "returning" to Southern for baseball, does not pass the "smell test". If this happens, I hope that someone questions it. I'm sure one or two coaches might say "WTF?!?!?!?!" LOL!!!!
Not that it matters, the other TVC Hocking teams are going to line up and play hard, without any shennanigans.........

And, RTN, quit being so coy about this. You know that this kind of behavior will result in all kinds of "stuff" from GW and I...........
Tornado fans, be careful about what you wish for, it may come true and become a nightmare........

None of my business. I hope things work out well for Butch and the Tornadoes.
But-
WTF was indeed my initial response. Now I have a few more... Wow, How? and Hmmm... are my other thoughts...

I have nothing in this but I was just stating my opinion, and I think it would be hard to argue agianst it. I have no ties to Gallia but I still believe they would have had a better season with Golden. And I will agree they just fell apart.
Re: Offical Topic of 2008 Southern Baseball
Ah yes I did forget about Golden's injury. He is a great player and would have definitely helped out "The Academy". But I wouldn't blame the entire losing season on his injury.
Re: Offical Topic of 2008 Southern Baseball
I agree there FrozenRope, but with the added confidence of golden running the show, matbe that alone could have helped inspire some of the other teammates.
Re: Offical Topic of 2008 Southern Baseball
Oh yeah no doubt. It's crazy how an injury to one kid can totally change the entire team....even their attitude and mindset.
Re: Offical Topic of 2008 Southern Baseball
It is amazing how things such as injuries to key players can have that effect. But on the other side of that I think injuries can help inspire teams to play a bit harder, and actually some teams can come together and surprise people.
