Re: WK2 West (1-0) @ Portsmouth (1-0)
Listening to Coach Duncan on the radio, I had no clue West only rushed for 80 yards. You can notice a difference on the defensive side of the ball with this team. Again, some shaky pass coverage but a lot of that had to do with the West QB avoiding tackles and extending the play. He is a real talent. Both QB's last night looked very talented. Great game, sloppy but fun.

Duncan is doing an excellent job there.TrojanXplosion wrote:Listening to Coach Duncan on the radio, I had no clue West only rushed for 80 yards. Yes West needs to run the ball better. The two guys that got hurt I believe were gonna be the two Tailbacks. That would allow them to move 22 around and get him the ball where he could use his speed more.

If I'm not mistaken only one penalty on line play. And that was off sides on a attempt to block extra point ,the line in two games with only one penalty .....discipline!

How's the Portsmouth defensive line? How are they against a power running attack, this will be the key for the Trojans vs. Rock Hill. Rock Hill has some power backs and big lines who fire off the line. I'm interested to see how this one turns out.

D line gets after it. They are better than what they showed against West. They will have to play the game of their life for Portsmouth to have a chance. In my opinion, it's going to be a good game.NewEra wrote:How's the Portsmouth defensive line? How are they against a power running attack, this will be the key for the Trojans vs. Rock Hill. This was one of the worst officiated games i have ever witnessed. West kid gets kicked in the head and gets a personal foal on him....smh. Portsmouth fumbles twice and they keep the ball both times. West catches a pass and a ref 40yds away says it hit the ground. Truly terrible to have such a hard fought game by both teams be tarnished because of terrible officials.
Portsmouth is much improved over last year. If they can stay healthy they can make a run at the OVC title. Coach Duncan clearly was the right choice for the job. Best of luck the rest of the season.

I've watched the game on film twice and you couldn't be more incorrect on both calls you mentioned.noles_fan wrote:This was one of the worst officiated games i have ever witnessed. I watched the game live and saw them with my own eyes. the film would be from the portsmouth side of the field which means the backs back wouldve been to the camera when the ball came out. But congrats on watching the film!!!Dinnertyme69 wrote:I've watched the game on film twice and you couldn't be more incorrect on both calls you mentioned.noles_fan wrote:This was one of the worst officiated games i have ever witnessed. I'm not crying you nothing we shot ourselves in the foot by not hanging onto the ball and dropping easy catches.
Re: WK2 West (1-0) @ Portsmouth (1-0)
The pass they called incomplete for West was incomplete.
The pass interference in the end zone is a judgment call. Could go either way. But its pretty obvious by the official's reaction, if the receiver doesn't fall down it's a no call.
The two Portsmouth fumbles in the second half were fumbles. The one by the running back was no doubt a fumble and it led to a td.
Portsmouth was way offsides on the blocked PAT. That's why Johnson was so upset. That should not happen by licensed officials. I can understand missing calls, but that's not a judgment call and shouldn't be missed by an official 5 yards away.
And some posters made it sound like the personal fouls were West cheap shotting. The one call a West player and Portsmouth player got locked together. Both players fell over the pile after the play. It should've either been offsetting or a play on. One other one the official called a hit to the head on a tackle.
