The fact is that the Chiefs lost ALOTTTTTT from last year and they will get better as the season goes forward . Meigs will be a tough challenge to say the least. Seasoned QB and some good talent ( just not sure what happened last week)they will be out to prove they are better than they have shown. What I will be watching is improvement in the Chiefs and a good competitive game and something to build on. A win would be nice and is attainable but either way it's High school football and that is special in it's self. Go Chiefs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just like reviewing the game film, these are areas that improvement must happen in and adjustments needs to be made! They have been working with these young men for a while and yes we have had some improvement, BUT the special team problems started last year. Yes Meigs is beatable, but the improvement must start to come a little quicker! Or the season will be over. The is an urgent need to start since we are now into the 3rd week already!

Meigs beat Logan in 1967 - the first year the school opened. The Marauders captured their only SEOAL crown that fall. It was a REALLY good Logan team (and obviously a great Meigs team).

Logan leads the all-time series 9-6-1, so it was always pretty competitive.

The biggest thing that has to be fixed is that offensive line! DJ and TV had LBs on top of the Logan QB and RBs before they know what was happening. Saw a few plays in the TV game that the Oline had 3 players 4 yds ahead of the ball carrier while the ball carrier was been tackled for a negative yds.

They will face the best LB of the year in two weeks, so it isn't going to get easier any time soon. But for this week, Logan keeps it close but Meigs pulls out the win.

His picks don't usually bode well for the team picked to win.

At least he didn't say Meigs looks slow on film. Now that's the real "kiss of death" for Logan.

I know I was shocked when I checked Locos' "Media Guide" and saw how many Frosh and Sophs were starting for the Chiefs. Unreal. I still find it hard to imagine that many youngsters beating out upper classmen. Is there something going on we "don't know about ? "

With 57 on the team and something like 31 being 9th and 10th graders there just might be a good chance of that.

Lots of "attrition" in the upper two grades - which is still my biggest worry going forward. IF these Frosh and sophs stick with the program, Logan will be in good shape. But if they lose some of the best kids - forget about it.

This senior class has had it tough since they got to the high school - I'm pretty sure they didn't even have a Freshman football season (more because the JV was so shallow they all had to play up).

But one of their best lineman and best linebackers/running back haven't been out the last two years. A junior lineman (who lettered last year and started late in the season) disappeared from the program. Several other promising kids in the top two classes never made it past freshman football.

Bottom line is a season like this has been coming - we're lucky they are so rare at LHS.

The fresh and the sophomore are not going anywhere. They all love the game and have had successful years in middle school. Trust me the future is bright.

From what I've seen of the under class-men over the last few years.... Logan will be back in its rightful place at the top.

I went back and looked at some of the scores from the current varsity 10-12 on the old forum from Jr High up and looks like they had average to below average records, nothing spectacular. The current Freshman went 5-3 in 7th and 4-2-1 last year as 8th graders, they look to have the best talent of the bunch. They just have to keep sticking with it and working hard and maybe good things will eventually happen.Locos pretty sure that one year they didn't have a freshman team it was either due to low numbers or injuries or a combination on the freshman team that year.

a couple of years ago they didn't have a freshman team. I think we had a lot of injuries to start the season and the freshmen came up to play JV.

The 8th grade last year went 5-2-1. Took an undefeated Jackson team to the 4 yard line before time ran out. Freshman and Sophomore classes will restore order.
