I am shocked to read on-line today that Logan has not gained 200 yards combined in it's two games yet. Is this a misprint?

Do not be surprised they basically are playing a varsity schedule with a reserve team of 9th and 10th graders! At some point this season the light will come on!

I remember the 1967 game vs. Meigs as I was coaching at Logan then. We lost a CLOSE game we probably should have won. Meigs had just hired the fired Marshall Univ. coach ( Charlie something) in their first year of consolidation. They ran a Tight Slot I and ran the off tackle play to the Slot. They had a small fireplug size TB, maybe 5-5 or 5-6. We slowed it down ( with a 50 Monster to the Slot) but couldn't stop it as they got 2- 3 yds a carry. I think they ran that 40 times that night. We stopped everything but that. Had Mel Brooker at TE who went to Navy and Chuck Kemper at FB who played for O.U. We had several drives they couldn't stop that got killed with our own penalties deep in the Red Zone. That game cost the Chiefs the SEOAL Championship. Great game but one the Chiefs let get away.

Despite the reasons this year, I still have trouble believing that Logan doesn't have players equal to or better than a bunch of Frosh & Sophs. Playing JVs as Frosh should have been a POSITIVE ( playing up in competition). But this years Frosh would have played 8th grade last year. This doesn't SMELL right .

And don't forget they are "basically a D4 type school" playing a D2 schedule. And their "students per square mile" makes them more like a D5 team. And they should be playing much smaller schools in SEO, oh wait, they are doing that last part.

Takes two to tango. Stop scheduling Logan if all you want to do is complain about it.

Make Logan go get their butts kicked up north and laugh at them.

But don't take their money and then complain. No one forces anyone to schedule anyone. Only two teams have to play Logan this year because the SEOAL is so small.

I like that NY plays Logan. Many years it helps us in several ways. This year it will especially help us if you know what I mean?

If you mean points, it won't help if Logan isn't beating anyone. You gotta beat Logan first to get any points in the first place.

Well said? He talks about complaining where there is no complaint. As I said, I like having Logan on the schedule. Especially this year. As far as points, they should beat Warren. Also we'll be able to say we are good enough to finish second in the SEOAL in it's swan song year.

So you are saying NY can beat Logan this year then, right? I wouldn't count on it, if you are banking on PO points already. Logan might be tuned up a little more when they meet NY here in two weeks. Logan has played some good teams so far and are young but don't let the scores guide you.

If we don't beat Logan we'll most likely end up 1-9 again. No way these kids let that happen.

Logan not going to provide much in the way of playoff points I'm afraid. NY might be their best chance to win before week 10, and that's a long shot at this point.

Guess it will help NY's confidence to beat around an 0-4 football team?

So there was not sarcasm in the quote below? If not then I stand corrected. If you DID intend sarcasm, it's certainly a complaint.

Sounds like Buck doesn't know too much about play off points.
But one thing he knows about is kids not getting the ball enough.lol

Here's my analysis of the roster:

12 Seniors - 9 playing a significant role. 8 starters on at least 1 side of the ball.

One letterman from last year moved out of the district and two others never made it passed freshman football (one big lineman, one RB/LB). Both would be starters based on their level at 9th grade. One senior didn't play last season.

15 Juniors: 8 playing significant role. 4 starting on at least one side of the ball.

BUT - this class lost EIGHT kids from last year, including one lineman who had become a starter by the end of last year. Another five kids didn't even make it past freshman football - all 5 of those were starters on the freshman team and could have been contributors.

23 Sophomores. 7 playing a significant role. Six started week one, 4 started week two.

7 Freshmen. 3 playing a significant role. Four others playing up with JVs full time.

Have to admit that's a pretty good one.

But not this year fellas. These seniors have a mission and if the game plan changes like we've heard it will this team will be on a roll in a few weeks and the cannon will be deafening.
