Re: Radio Coverage 92.1 and 103.7
Was pretty disappointed Friday night by a comment made by the announcer during the Eastern vs Wahama game. There was a late hit out of bounds. It was definitely a penalty, but it was a push more than a hit. The Wahama sidelines obviously took exception to the play. Players from both teams came together, but there were no punches thrown. Penalty flags came out, there were no ejections. The comment basically was " this is was you get when you play Eastern". That is unnecessary, unprofessional, and flat out untrue.

Screaming Eagle; Thanks so much for letting me know. Our goal is to promote our schools and their student-athletes in a positive way.
I talked to the announcer about your description of the play and what you heard. He was heartbroken. He is one of the finest gentlemen I know. He is a lover of HS sports and the kids and has been working in his school district for 38 years. He has been a sports official for 30 years. Since he does not post on this site, he wanted to say that he did not mean to describe the incident in a negative way but does understand it may have sounded that way. That was certainly not the intent. He offers his sincere apology to the Eastern football team, to Coach Newland and his staff, and the Eastern fans.
Best of luck to the Eagles in their remaining games.
