Looks like Coach Saunders got it started and Coach Burleson and his staff have done a very good job of building the program be being in every game, two state playoffs, and so close this year it was not even funny. But guess what life goes on players graduate and are replace with someone that will keep it going. What next year brings we can never be sure but I can see it being better than what alot of people think. Who knows maybe they will surprise alot of people in 2008.

GO REBELS! 8)

I think there was some guy named James that helped get the program going as well.

He had it the first four years but not much progress during the formative years of the program. He will tell you himself that after what happened in baseball in 97 that he should have got out of coaching for awhile. Coach Saunders put it on stable ground before taking the boys basketball job. Coach Burleson has taken it from there and has built it into a solid program and competive one. Truth is to make the playoffs in that short of time is something for the kids, coaches, and community to be proud of! 8) But remember this, it is harder to keep it going than to build it.

mtswngrvsg,
I know of a team that should have made it instead of two, but three years of SG being in the playoffs if they would have had their heads on straight. But that secondary just couldnt hold up as some people would say!

Monster-I must say I do not remember anyone saying that about that secondary that year. Was a good secondary and I think someone enjoyed his time with them. 8) The players were what made it an enjoyable season for and old war horse!

Just wondering when the local paper is going to release the All-State Football team in Division VI?

Congrats to Vance and Tyler! 8)

Remember this-

GO REBELS! REMEMBER THIS-YOU ARE ONLY AS GOOD AS YOUR NEXT GAME! 8)

I would make a guess that the QB will be senior that had play QB before he was switched to center as a sophmore. Will do a good job and surprise alot of people. That way the freshmen gets a chance to grow and mature.

There is no reason to put the blame on anyone. The program was not yet ready to make that big of jump at that time.

BBallin fool-thanks for the support.
