I could be wrong on this, but I do believe that Portsmouth DOES NOT play Logan and Zanesville next year. We do pick up Marietta as a new opponent, and play Warren again, as well all the South Division teams. That leaves one open date on the schedule, with Athens leaving. Athens was supposed to play Portsmouth in 2008.
I hope we can fill the open date with a decent team, but I wish the SEOAL adminstrators would let us fill the date with another league team. Makes sense to me, and one less phone call to make.
GO TROJANS!!!

i don't have a schedule yet, but i was told we don't play marietta until 09 and that in 09 we play 7 games including our own on field turf and with all the speed and talent in the freshmen class that will be juniors then that really works in our favor. I am fairly sure we play both logan and zanesville next year and replace both of them on the schedule in 09 . i know one of those replacement will be marietta.

Logan is NOT on the Portsmouth schedule for '08. The Chiefs lose Jackson and Gallia as league games and get Jackson and Chillicothe instead.
Trojans will be competitive. It's hard to win championships with sophomores, but I think that the Trojans will give everyone a run for their money.
Best of luck!

Alex Coakley is a QB and not a WR. Trey Underwood will play inside linebacker and Tim Mcgahan will not start on the DL. But alot of your positons look pretty close. You will also see alot of John Royster next year a CB and WR/RB.
2nd and 3rd Team this year at each positon and their grade next yr:
QB's- Josh Myers(SO), Alex Coakley(SO)
RB's- Chase Southern(SR),Jalen Kennedy(JR),David Mallory(SR),John Royster(SO),Angelo Jackson(SO) coming back from injury and didn't play this year because of it
WR's- Storm Bratchett(SR),Andrew Bendolph(SO),Ryan Jordan(SR),Collin Staker(SO),Kyle Simpson(SO),London Malone(JR),NicK Nelson(SR)
TE's- Nate Cadogan(SR),Adam Brey(SO)
OL- Brennan Howard(SO), Kasey Sanders (SO)Clay Lewis (SO) if grades are good
We have alot of youth next year, but if they work hard in the weight room they could be solid next year. This FR group coming up knows how to win if they just get stronger. They have never been beaten as a group, they were undefeated as 7th,8th, and 9th graders. They know how to win together. And with some of the experienced players coming back they could surprise alot of people.
