Lol, when did they get this strong run game?
BurgGrad6, you can try to start an argument somewhere else! I think we have improved greatly since week #1. Yes you guys beat us, you were simply the better team. Give the kids some credit, they've been working hard and are improving. Tonight's game will be a good test for us to see where we are.

I think one thing you might look at regarding your question....Coldwater beat you guys in every phase of the game. Does that mean your offense stunk, that your defense was terrible....NO. You were simply outplayed by a superior team. It happens!

I'm just a fan. I hope Wheelersburg has another tremendous season and makes a run at a State Title. You guys definitely have an extremely talented team that is always prepared well and plays their hearts out! They are fun to watch!
I'm not trying to start an argument... Who has ironton ran on? Yes, burg offense and defense stunk against cold water.. Terrible line play and arm tackling..

actually I'd like to talk about the ironton/ashland game myself. coldwater flat torqued burg. but I thought that thread was last year. I may be wrong. burggrad6 may not even be a burg fan. keep that in mind reading some of this stuff on here. these folks can come from the nether regions of anywhere wanting to make ironton look bad. and in the process their arrogance has gotten the whole soc thinking twice about having them.i'm hearin rumblings about the big fish in the lil pond. I'm sure the ovc would welcome another storied program into the fold. the league now has a 2 time state football champion. maybe we could add the burgites and boast of another one. hey burg made it there, proud of em. I really am. but as they found out---------- that's a horse of a different color.

the ironton/Ashland rivalry goes back to caveman times, like the ironton/Portsmouth series.and now burg has brought in the best and have made the ironton/burg series to get interesting again.look at it this way, if burg is too good to play all of us local yokels. and they decide to drop the ironton seies as they are saying. they'll still be on the wrong side of the win column as ironton leads the series I think 17-12. or something like that. mind you burg has won like 6 in a row. so that kinda speaks volumns about how lopsided the series was before the emergence of the Scioto county all stars. so I don't think they could live with that.

to bad the Scioto co allstars of today couldn't of played the Lawrence-boyd co allstars of yesteryear

Said it last year, time to make some changes, if we go 3-7 we will be lucky, at the very best 4-6,I didn't make a game last year and won't this year either, feel bad for the players but this will be the norm with who's in charge

I was at this game and it only confirmed my worst feeling about this team. They are no longer the Ironton "Fighting" Tigers. There is no fight what-so-ever in this team. Some players are giving their all, but many are not. If you had been there YTB, you would agree. Every former "Fighting" Tiger I talked to at the game, and there were many, going back to the early 70's agreed. As a team, they are quick to give up. The tradition is gone and it isn't ever coming back.

Their chins hit the floor the moment they gave up that 91 yard TD pass.

Not a good day in Tiger football history

Strange that fans of many other schools support their team not only in good times but bad. Ironton has had a long span of winning. The fans have not supported the team for years including when Lutz was still coaching the first time. Now the give up by many fans saying they will not go to games. Then complain when it appears that the players are following their example by quitting on the field. It is not one problem at Ironton. Positive support on and off the field is needed to build a program but hard honest work is needed. Not with strings attached. Keep blaming coaches and others. Just look how that is working out for the Cleveland Browns.

When Ironton didn't score and had to settle for a field goal, I knew it was only going to go downhill from there. The Tigers looked deflated even after taking the lead. You can say what you want but fans can't coach and fans can't play. There has to be effort and it shows dramatically when there isn't any effort or it is only sporadic. Ironton fans will always support the team but only if the team earns that support. If the team doesn't care, are the fans to blame, or the team? And by team, that includes the coaching staff. The Tomcats were not 24 points better than the Tigers on paper but they were on the scoreboard. The only question I have is why?
