It's competitive bc there are 3 or 4 pretty equal teams at the top. But it is still a little down compared to Burg, Fort Fry, and the upper half of the state.

For everyone saying take one game at a time and that it's too early to talk about this, it is clear that, yes that is the perfect and right attitude for players/coaches, but as for the rest of us spectators it is ok for us to predict and guess if a team will be 10-0 or not. I think it's unwritten knowledge that obviously we know we can't be sure only 3 weeks into the season, but that's kind of what makes predictions fun. I mean why even have football forums in the spring, summer, and winter then if it's not for talking football and who we thinks gonna be hot or cold.

And other people have the right to say it's to soon to crown an undefeated team. I personally like to make educated guesses myself, so I won't be crowning any undefeated teams just yet. But I will say wheelersburg has the best shot!

That's true they do have that right, my point was simply if week 3 is too early, then why even have threads taking polls of who we think is gonna win a league title? If week 3 is too early then certainly July and August is too early as well. You are correct though we do have the right to say it's too soon to speak of such things if that's the way somebody feels. Perhaps my post was too biased in one direction I will admit that. I agree with you 100% in saying that Wheelersburg probably has the best perfect season opportunity though!

Listen it's going to be impossible for for RH, CG or Peake to go undefeated bc Ironton is in the OVC. Lol. J/K

Funny how some say the OVC is down just b/c the Tigers aren't running away with it. OVC this year shouldn't be considered down. From what I see, it's gonna be a very competitive league for years to come.
you can't truly try to convince me the league's not down right now as a whole.it has nothing to do with ironton. the only teams gelling right now are Chesapeake, rock hill and coal grove. seriously , south point, fairland, ironton, Gallia academy, Portsmouth are truly looking to get back on track and are really struggling. i'll be the 1st person to tell you I thought ironton would run roughshod through the ovc football wise. and they've yet to be beat in league play. trust me when I tell you if a Lawrence county school does beat ironton. it'll likely be this year. and Gallia academy and Portsmouth have been struggling mightily as well for many years. southern ohio football, and the face of it has changed. but the league being down right now has nothing to do with ironton being down as the only team struggling. but nice try. I think give it a couple of years this will be a very competitive league from top to bottom in all sports. boys n girls. everybody has the same type athletes now. and the same social economical situations.

and by the way good luck to the tribe this weekend, whether anybody believes me or not. and good luck to the ovc as a whole.unfortunately this week, we have a mess of teams playing each other, and especially next week we have league opponents playing. so the cream will rise.the 2 marquee matchups this week involving league teams firstly involve rock hill. Portsmouth who seemingly was looking improved andthen got whalloped by the pirates.but that's a horse of a different color right now. and rock hill is 3-0. this is THE key ovc matchup in my opinion. can rock hill beat Portsmouth who has been until a while back who has been a perennial football powerhouse by virtue of playoff appearances. rock hill now has some playoff history that just does not involve them and ironton. ------------------------ and can ironton play better ball and beat a struggling Ashland team that is flailing as well. in what is a much less heated rivalry as in years past. we certainly have to do the fundamentals better in itown and see what happens.

like I said before == you can't talk about being 10-0, if you ain't 3-0. which the hill is right now, so anything is possible certainly.

I don't think they will go 10-0. They have the ability to do it, but too many rivalry games.. And.... I think coalgrove wins the ovc.

33-32 this is why you don't discuss undefeated seasons 1/3 the way in. Lessons learned the hard way tonight.
