ace63,
When they gave there notice to leave the OCC back in 2004 they first looked at the MSL-Buckeye but was rejected. The Division already had 8 teams.

Then the SEOAL deal came about and they jumped on it with Portsmouth Ironton and Zanesville.

Chillicothe had inquired about joining the SEOAL as far back as 2000 by itself.

So as I stated, I don't see Chillicothe ever leaving the SEOAL unless the SEOAL crumbles and falls apart. :-D

If the SEOAL did fall apart, I actually don't know where the CAVS would go.

The SOC II would say no
The MSL Buckeye would say no
The MSL Cardinal is to small
The SVC is to small
The OVC is to small
The SOC I is to small
The TVC Hocking is to small
The MSL Ohio is to far and would say no
Chillicothe would not go back to The OCC
The TVC-Ohio would say no

Maybe the SCOL would say yes, I don't know?
Or one of those leagues down on 35-71 S headed towards Cincinnati
Or one of the leagues in the Dayton Area?

Most likely they would have to be an independent or try to be with members of the busted up SEOAL and form a new league.

Tom,

If you have been reading since this board started then I guess it is a comprehension problem you have. I will explain things for you.

In 2006 (Ironton's first year in the league) I said Logan would win the league. Logan did. I made that prediction on local knowledge. ironton boasted they would win the league. Apparently over estimating the talent on hand.

In 2007 Ironton said we have Lutz back. "watch out league". I said don't worry logan would win the league(they did) and would crush ironton(they did). Once again my knowledge reighned supreme. Ironton sadly misjudged their talent and their coach.

The point is my judgement of the local talent is correct. Ironton's judgement of local talent has compiled an 11-10 record. So as you can see they have not judged the talent with any accuracy. No reason to beleive them this year.

I always say do it on the field. Then you can post and boast. The LOGAN way.

hmmmm it sounds like Mr. Rowe (IHS Principle) is for the move too.

also sounds like BOE Members Mr. Johnson and Mr. Pleasant aren't against the idea either, they just want more input from AD Vass

“Quite often we bring things up and nothing gets done about them,” Kratzenberg said.

Thats probably the best quote in the whole article. So basically what it is saying is it a wait and see if we are leaving or not.

I'm sure the fans who attend all games would have a good idea about gate receipts......for those fans who attend all Ironton games, how well do the other SEOAL schools travel to Ironton? How do they compare to those who traveled to Ironton when you played an independent schedule?

They should get the AD Vass involved but as some posters have stated before that Lutz controls all football decisions including the TP in the locer rooms. So it would seem the person needed to contact would be Coach Lutz on the future of Ironton Sports.

I am curious. The article states "a community member.....suggested they get out of the SEOAL." My question is this, was this decided because a community member wanted out? That is very odd that 1 person could influence the decision of a BOE.

“We need [Vass] to contrast and compare with previous years,” Johnson said. “I feel like we need to know about things like scheduling and bus costs and gate receipts before we make a resolution that we’re going to be out (of the SEOAL). I’m not saying I’m for or against the SEOAL, just that I think we need to compare.”

We just got into the SEOAL and we want out!

I guess our word does not mean anything these days. I know there are costs associated with being in the SEOAL but we should have thought of that before we signed a contract. Also I think we should wait until the new board members start. During the election two of the board members that voted to get out of the SEOAL will no longer be part of the board.

Let’s start fresh with the new BOE the old BOE has been nothing but a problem with everything they have touched. New Schools, Teachers, Football, Band and the list goes on. Why would we want to do anything at this time with this BOE approval?

Ironton Football was something that people were proud of and if we continue in this direction we will be the joke of South Eastern Ohio.

2old,

I have two words for you "spell check". Reading your posts is like grading a 3rd grader's writing assignment. You have to spend so much time trying to figure out what the true words are through all the poor spelling it gives one a headache.

I do find it funny that you don't think these posters or the community knows what's best for Ironton football but a guy from Wellston who chooses to follow a winner instead of his local team does know what's best? That's rich.

By the way what is a West Cronie and statements like that is why Ironton people are disliked.
