I am new to the site and I went back to read your some of your posts after reading your comments about Coach Belville. What did that guy do to cause you to hate him so much?
I know the first year he was here Fairland was 3-18. Since that time I think he is 36 and 19, including 9-1 this year. I think that is not too shabby.
As far as the game last night, I think it comes down to hitting shots. Fairland missed a lot of easy baskets early and a couple late, while South Point shot over 60% from the field. Players make shots not coaches.

i couldnt agree more fhsfan....players have to go out and win games.....coaches jus instruct them how they think is the best way to win those games....from my understanding coach belville didnt do anything any different last night than he did any other game.....he used his bench all night long.....smegma youve got to realize that mayo IS the best player in the conference when he is on his game which he very much was last night....therefore there was no1 in the conference that coulda guarded him last night.....every1 has there own philosophys about stopping top players....but stop dogging the coaching staff bc u woulda did sumthin different....look im from south point nd i can see that you are bashing belville nd those guys ive seen it from sp ppl about coach norris as well dont get me wrong and i dont agree with everything every coach does but dont get on here nd bash the coaches or do it yourself.....

I couldn't let this one go....when Todd gets mad, he can do just about anything he wants to on the court....and believe me, the look in his eye, he was mad - Todd doesn't like loosing. ( i know, no one does).
And I agree with the other posters - if you question the coach, ask yourself this...could you do better? And I agree, there are times we question what the coach is thinking and why he is doing a certain thing, I wondered that myself about coach Norris during this game, but I am not the coach, I don't work with these kids in practice everyday, and I don't look at the game the same way he does. If we were all coaches, then the kids wouldn't get anything done for all the bickering between the coaches on who should play and what should be done - that's HIS (or her) job - NOT OURS.
And always remember - it's just a game and these are KIDS. They don't need us "experts" telling them woulda, shoulda coulda - Win or Loose, let the kids play, have fun and enjoy their season. Don't live THROUGH them, live for them
Wow, what a game. It definitely lived up to the pre-game hype. It was probably one of the poorer officiated games I've witnessed, but I must say they were consistent, some good calls, some bad calls, and alot of missed calls, but I don't believe they played a roll in the outcome of the game. Contrary to what Bucking Red posted that the technical was the difference in the game, the technical happened with over 6 minutes left in the quarter and the Dragons regained the lead afterwards, so maybe I'm misinterpreting his post. IMO the difference in the game was FHS's leading scorer was having an off night while Mayo-best performance from a high schooler I've ever witnessed--was on. The Dragons also had too many turnovers and bad shor selection. The Dragons had a few critical TOs in the waining minutes and took some ill advised shots, why would you crank up a 28 footer (missed) with 35 seconds left, you have a one point lead and there is no one back to rebound. The answer is these are still young men playing/ learning the game. Hopefully, the Dragons will learn from this and regroup and start a new winning streak! Everyone needs to mark their calendar for February 1st at SP for Round II.
