South Point should be undefeated when the seedings come out. They have games left with Hunt. St.Joe, Coal Grove, Ironton St. Joe and West Union. I don't think any of these teams have winning records so far. The only game that I think will be close is Coal Grove which we only beat by less than 10. You never know though some of the teams could upset the Pointers!

Something else to think about that always comes into play is politics...there are 4 TVC Ohio teams in the same sectional...will they help each other out??
What about other conference affiliations? I'm not nearly as familiar with many other conferences in SE Ohio other than the TVC and SEOAL...what conferences are all of these other schools in, and how many teams from each conference???

Chesapeake, Coal Grove ( Dawson Bryant) , Fairland, Rock Hill, and South Point are all in the OVC

I don't think the conference affilitations will matter when the top 4 are considered. South Point, Wheelersburg, Fairland and Chesapeake (in no particular order) are pretty much set. Conference politics could come into play for the 5-9 seeds.

I think teams below Fairland, SP and Burg will be jockeying to avoid...but who do you avoid????.....and I'm not sure those same teams won't be trying to avoid some of the other middle seeds who are very dangerous....just not as consistently good

I'd have to agree with that, but the 5-9 may turn out to be very important...how many teams are coming out of each one of these sectionals?

I would think the top 2 seeds or even the top 4 seeds only have to win one to get out of the sectional

For the Jackson Sectional:

If it is done like it was in years past, 4 teams will advance. The #1 and #2 seeds will receive a first round bye, and everyone else will have to win 2 games. Again if it goes by what they have done in the past it would be something like this:

#1 would play the winner of #8 and #9 with the winner advancing to districts

#2 would play the winner of #7 and #10 with the winner advancing to districts

#3 would play #14 and #6 would play #11 - the winners would face off for a spot in the districts

#4 would play #13 and #5 would play #12 - the winners would face off for a spot in the districts

This is how the brackets were set up 3 or 4 years ago according to the OHSAA. I am not sure they would follow the same format, but I think they will.

I am not sure what will be done for 15 teams at the Waverly Sectional.

I think you have the right format. This would be 10 games and there are 10 game times listed at that site.

Portsmouth is 6-7 right now, with a home game vs. Marietta on Friday, and play @Gallia Academy next Tuesday, and then play @Warren next Friday.....and then the draw.

Portsmouth won @Minford the first game of the season.

If the Trojans end up 8-8 going into the draw, they probably will get around a 7 seed. If they can post 9-7, maybe a 6. It will be interesting to see where they land, since I think they are one of the more intriguing teams in that sectional.

A team that is really hard to figure out.........they have talent, no doubt, but what team will show up..........

Please check records on page 1 to see if I am close on overall records. The drawing is Sunday, so games over the next couple of days are going to be big.

be interesting to see the burg-south point game if they play each other. my guess would be in the regional finals if they are both 1 and 2

districts if they would be 1 and 3

How will the cancellations of 1/22 effect these seedings? I assume some of these teams wanted to play (and win) while others are thankful for the snow (and no loss)?
