Belpre defeats Eastern Brown

Post by Prodigy »

Belpre defeated Eastern Brown saturday night at Rio Grande to advance there record to 6-6 on the year. Not too sure of the final score though, belpre won by 10 or so. And as much as i hate to say this, that was Micah Pfalzgrafs last game in a Belpre uniform. He will be transferring to Mount State Academy in Beckley, WV. Not too sure what his reasoning was behind this, but im sure micah has a good reason to just pack it up and leave in the middle of the season. Micah, i wish you best of luck to everything that you do, and hope everything works out for the best, no matter what, i will always support you!!! GO EAGLES!!!!

Belpre 72 Eastern Brown 65 was the final. It sad that kids are forced
to leave the program, fifth kid to quite these season. Boy the broad
members made a good choice in getting a quality coach. I wish Michah
the best of luck and know it was the right choice to make, do not blame
him for it.

Well I hope some of these Belpre fans can see now that this "family" that was being put together is falling apart. I wish Micah all the best in his new school and I know that he will be succesful.

If this is the spelling and grammer you learn @ Belpre I dont blame him for leaving. LOL

Just kidding I wish the best for him. I have family members who play in the TVC and all said he was a class act.

This is really unfortunate, but I had heard this may happen, and now it has.

And maybe if you were a Belpre student, you would spell it "grammar" LOL!!!!

Micah is a very classy and nice person, he is the nicest and most polite person you will ever meet, hes looking out for himself by leaving. I agree with eaglepawpaw, this family system that Coach Plummer is trying to put together is falling apart quickly. He has had 3 seniors quit on varsity and micah is now leaving, and we have had a JV player quit and a freshman off the freshman team quit. Coach Stout hardly ever had players quit in the middle of the season, once he got the team he wanted and once conditioning was over, coach stout rarely had kids quit. But again, i wish the best to Micah in whatever he does and hopefully he can achieve the goals that he wants to achieve. GOOD LUCK MICAH and Belpre Eagles varsity basketball team, dont go into the next game worried about micah being gone, just play your game and you will be fine, and Jared Azar and Corey Roberts, be ready to STEP UP!!! GO EAGLES!!

Last year at the drawing Belpre was 9-6. They stand a good chance of being 9-6 or 8-7. We lost 3 starters and the best player to ever play at Belpre so I think that the kids are making head way.
I think that people that are unhappy with the coaches over playing time issues use this "Family" motto as a way to throw digs at the coaches. Very childish IMHO.

As far as Phalzgraf transfering well there were rumors to that effect before the season ever started. Micah wouldn't be the 1st 6'9" kid that transfered to a better situation. You can't fault Micah, his parents or the coaching staff. Whether it be for basketball, grades or a personal family choice that shouldn't be for speculation on this forum.

FYI,

One senior quite because he wanted to focus on football. He has some offers at D2 schools and wants to be in the weight room. Secondly, Micah would be ineligible as of the end of this weekends game because of grades. That is a FACT. I am not a basketball fan rather wrestling during this time of year. However, to see the so called Belpre FANs sit back and trash their coach game after game is horrible. You the parents should be totally ashamed of how you all act. Michah is a SUPER KID no questions asked and everyone knows that. Now, I did go to a basketball game not to long ago and his mother was sitting behind me and all she did was complain the entire time.
I don't know if this is their way of thinking or not but a little birdy dropped off some information that he plans on going to this school in Beckley going in as Junior and thus leaving him another year to play as a Senior. HUMMM sounds fishy to me.
I have a funny feeling and again I am just a wrestling guy that the parents or parent is trying to play mind games just for the simple fact he is Ineligible because of grades.

This day in age parents are so apt to blame everyone else but their own kid. Get real parents and take some reponsiblity or at least show your kid what reponsiblity is. Time to grow up.

This, my friend, is the problem. You hit it right on the head. Go out and buy your kid a brand new car and let he/she drive like a moron. They get in trouble, who's fault is it??? Not you, not your kid, it is society......

This is simply one example, which I think may hit closer to home in this situation that what I was implying...

There are way too many parents today who teach NO responsibility, and try to live vicariously through their kids (regardless of how talented they are, and when they are not very talented, well, then again, it is everyone else's fault!!!)

You have hit on a very good point, unfortunately, and at a micro level, the situation in Belpre is a perfect example.

Otterslide...... you couldn't be more wrong. The parents in this situation are not like that. They have tried to be supportive of each and every kid in the program. I'm sure at time they've had disagreements with the coaching staff but I've yet to see them fail to come thru when the kids or the program has been in need. You don't know all the facts. You probably should check them before you start ripping execllent parents like these.

I've heard that Belpre may have a lot of grade issues. That's a parent problem. As for the kid transferring, he may be a nice kid but Belpre may be better now. No matter where he goes he needs to work on foot work bad, getting into shape so he can run the floor. Belpre may be a lot quicker with him out of the line up. I've saw a couple of his games and for his size he isn't a huge force in side.

Belpre will be better. Pull together as a team and community and back the Eagles.

This is really simple. You have just proved my entire point of responsibility. For that I thank you! Secondly, facts are this I heard it with my own ears. That my friend makes it a FACT. Buying uniforms or paying money to the program does NOT make you and excellent supporter. Threating to take stuff back that one has bought for the school because of riffs. That to me is not supportive. Okay yes supportive to the kids, yes to a point. Supportive to the coaching staff and the school NO! If they are as supportive as you say they should have been more supportive of the young man's grades first and foremost! You my friend know that grades will get you somewhere.
Being supportive of a coaching staff is a major issue in Belpre. I remember one gentleman spinning gravel all over coach Shriver because there son wasn't doing what the parent thought he should be. This rubs off on the kids. Just like the kids talking back to a coach in a disrespectful way. Eagles20 I know you would not tolerate a young kid doing that too you! I think alot of bridges are being burnt and it is going to be a long fall for many, but I sure hope things change. This is not directed totally at basketball but all sports in Belpre and how the parents act. Oh by the way what I have said on here is not my fault....ask my parents they will tell you ....society made me do it. No I know it is southeasternohiopreps fault for letting me on this forum...lol...
