The only graduated 3 last year Anthony Hall, Dustie Burton and Justin Hoffman. Burton and Hall were Lineman and Hoffman was the fast RB that they had. But his shoes will be filled with Roy Oakes or Joe Hall both are fast and strong. The return there QB Jordan Elam who is the scrambling type. They return Logan Nagel, Zach Hill, Sam Mitchell and James Hatfield at the WR spot. Up front they return Matt Cochran,RC Tumbleson and Drew Burton.. All are very fast.. Should be a interesting team to watch.

This could be a toss up year. It could go very well or it could go very wrong. I just can't decide.

panthermama,

Sounds like SE-Ross might surprise some this year. :-D

That would be neat to see the Panthers have a winning season in Football. Especially in the SVC. :-D

Good Luck :!:

SE's 8th grade this season had plenty of speed on both sides of the ball, kind of like their varsity. What hurts them, IMO are teams that can pound you into submission like Adena, Westfall and Piketon done to them. They are getting better and could do well in the league this year. Many of the SVC teams are close.

The main thing going for SE next year will be numbers. Starting with this years sophmore class there is about 15 kids per grade playing. Our seniors next year will only number about 6 or 7, but after that every grade will have quite a few. Hopefully we can build the team up and have some depth.

lets hope they all play, and are coached like a team , not just coached like special individuals. Team...thats the key word, only as strong as the weakest link.

SEfan, I think most will be back. My sons friends have been working on him and he says he will probably play. As one parent told me, these boys have been playing together too long to stop two years early. I have my son working on the other boys in school. We need some size badly. Someone..I wont say who...has the boys trying to rile my son to get him to play. Telling him he was a wimp and too big of a sissy to play basically. That technique doesn't work on him. I don't believe he has ever backed down from anything. It just convinced him to not play. Then some of his friends realized that convince him to play they had to tell him how much he was needed on the team. How they needed his bulk and strength. It amazes me that it took teenagers to realize how to do what the adults out there couldn't.

Good to hear, SE needs bodies, football is a numbers game as I hear Scott Keller from Westfall say on many occasions, injuries really hurt the Panthers last year. And I agree history has shown the numbers dwindle at SE as the boys get older, Id like to see that large soph and fresh class intact next year..Incredible speed in those classes and some experienced skill and defensive players. I hope some changes are made to encourage that to happen. Play as a team boys, you do it for yourselves.

Yeah injuries did hurt the team a lot but they had kids still step up and play to their potential its just not a good match up when its a freshman going up against a senior.
