Best team in Washington County
This is a great year for basketball here in washington county. There is plenty of talent everywhere. Waterford, Warren, Fort Frye, are all very good teams this year poised to make a run this year with Frontier playing very well this year also. Belpre is ok it seems as though they are playing better since Pfalzgraf transferred, and Marietta is a little down this year. Any thoughts??

Marathon rebel i disagree with you on this one warren is good but i believe waterford and fort frye are just as good or better this year. Fort Frye had a 16 point lead at warren earlier in the season and just uncharacteristcally missed several free throws down the stretch of that game to let warren back in and eventually lost by a single point. But fort frye gets the rematch at the fort next saturday and i believe they'll take that one. And waterford would beat warren this season no doubt in my mind have u seen them, they start a 6'9'', 6'4'',6'3'',6'2'', and 5'11'' starting lineup and they are the best defesive team in the area they held a very good fort frye team to 20 points and 6 in the entire 2nd half. They are also very athletic and versatile, the only weakness is there ball handling, they have alot of bad turnovers but still seem to overcome them with great defense and outrebounding teams by about 20 a game. I also have been pretty impressed with Frontier they are very talented and have a nice team but don't quite have the discipline to beat waterford, warren, or fort frye i dont believe but they do get a chance to prove me wrong playing the cadets twice in the next two weeks. Frontier could be the best team in the county next year because they only lose one senior that doesnt even play that much.

Captain-
You can't use that good logic in Washington County. It doesn't matter who wins. All that matters is where you live and who your team is. If you lose, its "we had a bad night but we are the better team". If you lose a second time, its "we had another bad night but we are still the better team". Good Luck to you in this discussion.

I watched Warren and Fort Frye the other night, and wasnt impressed with warren. Waterford has handled Fort Frye easily both times this season. Fort Frye pressed waterford and we handled it with ease. Hendershot and Cunningham would be too much for warren inside. Call isnt very disciplined and gets dumb fouls. Theres no way Venham could deal with either one of them inside. Call and Venham got embarrassed by Thompson, theres no way they could deal with the height of Cunningham and the athleticism of Hendershot. Warren is deeper than waterford though. If they could press the whole game without getting anyone into foul trouble they could win for sure. But it is such a contrast in styles. I think had they played a home and home this season, it would have been a split.

throwitdown....not so sure that Thompson embarrassed Call and Venham...Call may have had some dumb fouls...and Venham only being a freshman might have been a little inexperienced on a athletic big guy...but i don't think it was any where near embarrassing...only making 45% of your free throws out of the whole team now thats embarrassing...its always hard to play at the box....i mean the "fort"....i have also seen waterford and i think you might be right about the split decision but i still think warren, as a team, would be too athletic for them...but obviously cunningham and hendershot embarrassed thompson twice this year so it might be a toss up for the best team in the county...good luck to all washington county teams in the tourny...
Warren is way to strong on individual matchup's .. with either team ... muscle goes to Warren .. Fort has the purest shooters , and Waterford has the biggest heart .. they never give up. It depends who is on that night..and mostly from the foul line. But in Washington county ... any given night .... you never know !!!!! Marietta, Belpre and Frontier are fighting it out for the last three spots.

I'm going to have to say that Warren is best team this year in Washington county, closely followed by Fort Frye. Waterford swept Fort Frye this year I still firmly believe that come tourney time the Cadets will make it deeper than the Wildcats. Waterford has yet to play a tallented fast passed team like they will face in the tourney... Africentric! If they make it that far. Fort Frye has a load of tallent and the backing of great coach in Lidke. With these two factors the Cadets will make a good run in the tourney. Warren is also loaded with tallent. Ever player that the warriors put on the floor is phisically and mentally tough. I don't see them going that deep in the tourney but I do believe that they are the best team in Washington county. Waterford would loose to Warren if they were to play. So my top three will be in this order Warren, Fort Frye, Waterford.
