Otterslide, Sorry but I don't see your side, the Basketball side was willing to help and change the time of the game. It sad that people can't work together and give N take. I doubt a Football game would be moved for a Youth soccer tourn. YOU know that!!!!!

Heres hoping that Belpre comes out with a win against Eastern so the naysayers will have one less thing to complain about.

Mister B, this game was changed last week, that is a fact.

I think we all need to chill out a little bit about the moving of this game. Depending on when the sectional drawing is...moving this game up COULD be beneficial for Belpre IF they can manage a W this evening...

Nice win for Belpre..
heard Watkins had 22 and 10 rebounds, and Lynch also had 22. Watkins is going to have to come up big against Vinton if Belpre is going to have a chance

Watkins had a good offensive game tonight and Lynch hit some big threes in the 1st half. Belpre will have to play better defense inside against VC and rebound better if they are going to have any chance friday night.Hopefully Scottie will be back on Friday

Honestly, who friggin cares about when this game was supposed to be or why it was moved.

BUT ABOUT THE GAME(which all of these should be about)..

Good game to watch, Eastern led most of the game--but as always, lost it late. Mikey Johnson played what I think was the best game of his young high school career tonight. Very, VERY poor officiating--but what else is new?? Guess Belpre's sign on the wall with the refs as their sixth man really gets taken to heart sometimes. Oh well, thats basketball!

You don't want to see it any other way. We couldn't move the date. Simple as that. We couldn't move it to Sunday because that was league championship date at OU with 17 other teams. The following weeks we could not get any help from the varsity wrestlers because they would be at Sectional, then the following Reginals, then State. Before the date they had other tournaments they went too. And other dates in the area were occupied by other schools in which if we would get on their date we would not get a turn out at our tournament. I don't know how much plainer I can make it. Why do you always think Basketball gets the shaft?
I think you think it is one person but it isn't. The varsity head coach was backing it too. This tournament gets it funds and distributes it to JV and Varsity wrestling. In turn they help us run the tournament along with the parents from youth, junior high, and varsity wrestling. We don't get hardly any money from the school just like basketball. However, we decided to start doing this tournament 4 years ago to raise money to support our program. We don't ask for help from basketball, baseball, football, band, or art club to do anything. We run our own concessions and everything. Now, I know basketball doesn't do their own concessions. I have seen only Varsity Wrestling parents working it for Basketball. There has not been a Varsity basketball game on the first Saturday of Feb. for at least 4 years. There was a mess up on the schedule from the last AD. So would it be fair to tell wrestling to move the date when they have had the same date for 4 years? You are only looking at it from one side. That is fine and is your choice. I have done nothing but take up for the basketball program. Now you want to attack the wrestling program. I don't understand?

can we PLEASE put this to rest? This benefitted the basketball team by givivng them another win before the sectional drawing this weekend. I dont understand why everyone wouldnt be all for moving this game up, especially now that we have won

eaglepapaw....my insider info  is tellin me that Scottys playin one way or another against VC Friday...hope thats true because lord knows we'll need everyone we can get!

  cry me a river

The sign is referring to what (used to be) one of the best student sections in SE Ohio.

Nice win for Belpre, but they have a lot of work to do this week if they're gonna compete against VC.

and what about Belpre's time keeper.

Let's see he didn't start the clock once in the JV game before the OT, might have been a different outcome in the JV.

and then comes the Varsity game and not once but TWICE the clock was not running.

I think Belpre needs to find a new guy, (one that don't find humor in not starting the clock) for their next home game......

The refs in the JV game were bad to both teams and didn't favor either. The varsity game had at least one ref that was from Eastern because he was talking to the Eastern fans and players and they called him by his name. I thought all in all the varsity game was called pretty even. The clock guy,I got to give you that one

Yeah, one of the refs there is known as an 'eastern hater' Sometimes his calls are very biased against eastern--yet he somehow finds his way to all of their games...haha...yeah, I know you probably dont believe it, but oh well. The refs in the varsity were not as bad as the jv.. and i dont think the varsity refs really changed the outcome. im not here to bicker and complain. Both teams played hard--Belpre EARNED the win. Eastern just kindve gave it away.
