I'm just telling you what BOTH coaches said AFTER the game. Why would they lie about such a thing?
Everybody wants to dog Waverly for throwing so much but it worked.
Why do you think Piketon ran the ball so much - IT WORKED.

Malone is a great talent for the Tigers, no-one has denied that. Defenses will have to account for him as they will many other weapons. The coaches saw we could have better success passing the ball so that's what they did - GIVE IT A REST.

Moving on to entertaining the Ironmen.

I have never seen so many people complain about how their team won a game
Congrats to the Waverly tigers. This week they may run the ball 40 times and malone may have 300 yds rushing then again maybe not. ;-) Good luck this week.

With a score of 53 - 54, either BOTH offenses rocked or both defenses stunk. Even with the Roback stats they barely squeaked one out so I say Piketon should have a lot to be pleased with if Roback and the Tigers are so awesome.

I'm not complaining im happy they won..i just agree that the outcome could of have been different if we chose to run instead of throwing 4 straight incompletions like we did on 2 drives...im just not letting b/s get shoved down my throat when he says that our running game was ineffective...it obviously wasn't
whats going to hurt Waverly is the excessive passing plays which prevented the new O-line to gel as a unit for the ground game.... So now if we need to depend on the ground game the line wont be up to speed

I think everyone agrees that Waverly can get "pass-happy" sometimes. If you dont believe that - just sat in the stands and listen to the crowd- one more thing -"we better give Malone the ball more than 7 times in the game" or we will not have a very good season!

As far as the the Piketon game The reason why we threw the ball so much was because we were behind so much in the game- not because Derek was so accurate because early on he was off - and it is a credit to him that he just kept fighting! However, it does seem like there are times when the play-calling is funny- I would not be to excited if I was a running back and it is first and goal at the three and we throw the ball four times. You might say that didnt happen at Piketon and you are probably correct- but there are a lot of people that worry about us not running the ball and thinking you can only score in the air.

I think we can all agree that Walls had a lot more talent to throw the ball to but he did seem to always be accurate - and we will see him play in college. To say that Roback is as good as Walls is crazy- he has started on varsity game at QB and that does not make him better- he has potential that is mind-boggling but one game doesnt match what Mr. Walls did- we dont even know if he will play QB in college. They are two different types of QB's and thats enjoy them and the ones that follow. The freshman class is loaded with linemen and skilled players.
