Osbourne won the MVL Player of the Year award last year as a sophomore & will likely repeat this season.

Witten with 21 was a bright spot with Athens. I liked the intensity Athens came out with in the first quarter. I'd like to point out that no guard in SE Ohio has played as well as Witten over the last five or six games. He is a stud

I don't know. You give me 5 or 6 guys who can breathe, plus a guard who is playing better than anyone in SEO, and I'll beat teams that bottom feed in the TVC.

Please don't let one foolish post by some kid open up the flood gates to the bashing of Athens. An act that doesn't need much provocation these days I might add.

The kids at Athens are working their butts off.

spartan,

Thanks for your post. I almost responded and said something I shouldn't. . Athens has had a tough year and I am sure they are working their butt off. We will see them next Friday down in Chilly. I hear their kids really do go at it.

GO CAVS!!!

I don't mean to bash Athens. I actually think they have a bright future ahead of them, and yes, they definitely do play hard. I hope they finish strong.

To clarify, I mean no disrespect to any of the Athens kids or the Athens program. I think they are the hardest working kids I have seen this year and their Coach must do an outstanding job to keep them motivated and playing so hard.

My "huh" was for the Matt Witten comment. Gocubsgo has posted ten times to the basketball forum. Nine of those posts praise Matt Witten. I'm sure Matt works as hard as the other Athens kids but gocubsgo needs to back off a little.

Witten's scoring and Eberts' rebounding are about the only bright spots on that team. defense as a whole is horrendous. but this coach seems to really know his stuff. i think he'll pull this program out of the gutter in a quick fashion.
