South Point @ River Valley 1/29

Post by osumufan »

Last time @ SP the Pointers won in the last few seconds. I think the Pointers are playing much better now. But you know how it is playing at the superdome ;-) . Pointers by 15.

Pointers should win big if they come ready to play.

Another long trip for the Pointers. I'm hoping to get to make the trip.

Pointers stay undefeated, winning by 12.

from reading on here river valley has fallin apart of late but they still have that upset capability (ask oak hill). From what i can remember about them they shoot the 3 ball A LOT, its just a matter of if they can make those shots.......nd oh yeah its really tough playing at river valley its always so hot and dark in there.....with that being said ill say Point by 14

Raiders in upset

Post by jottings »

I look for another big upset by the Raiders. They have lost several heartbreakers this year. It's time luck is on their side.

If RV can play 4 quarters of ball, I also think they can pull another upset.

I left the game when Mayo fouled out with about 2 minutes left to play in the 4th and South Point was up by about 15. By the way, the follow up dunk he had was pretty sweet.

I'm guessing the Pointers since they were up 15 when I left with 2 minutes to play, unless RV had one heck of a comeback.

Mayo's follow-up dunk was nice. Otherwise, not a very pretty game.

But a win is a win I guess, and SP stays undefeated!

pretty well played game from the south point side.....kinda hard to win by double figures when the officiating was as bad as it was, but that was expected goin in to it.....big win for the point now we can look forward to the showdown friday @ SP

Todd's follow up dunk was nasty.....def a top 10 nominee

The officiating was horrid, some of the worst I've seen. I hate to accuse anyone of not being fair or trying to help a team, but one particular ref, it's hard not to think that.

Maybe the officiating was part of it, but how many points did SP score in the 3rd? 8, maybe 10? We seemed to be having some problems offensively for a while. I guess that was corrected in the 4th quarter though.

we had 5 in the 3rd foster hit the 3 at the buzzer nd woody had a lay up.....i was told that the one ref was there cross country/track coach

If that's the case, he certainly shouldn't have been doing the game, in my opinion. It's one thing for a ref to be bad. Yea, it's frustrating, but at least you know they're trying to call the game correctly. But when you have an official that has an agenda, it can make all refs look bad.

Every year SP comes to RV you complain about the officiating. There were questionable calls BOTH ways no doubt. There has been some shaky calls when RV goes to SP also. It happens. Officials are going to miss some calls that is expected.
Maybe RV defense had something to do with SP not being able to score in 3rd qtr. SP had 2 points in the qtr until the 3 at the buzzer. Scored a 2ptr to start 4th qtr and the lead was at 12. Turning point in the game.

The RV track/CC coach WAS NOT one of the officials.

the old Todd would have been gone for a couple games also. ;-)
I guess if you got run over a couple times on the same possession maybe you just need to get a little tougher... maybe your coach deserved the technical then. Quit being an idiot.
