Careful what you wish for. If Northwest can knock off the Oaks, they still have a shot at the Burg.

Agreed. All it takes is one bad game in this league and you can get a L very quickly. The Burg will have to stay sharp to beat the Mohawks on their home floor.

Thanks, NW. Now, the Burg has to really hype up and get ready to play some awesome D against the Mohawks. That could be a real battle.
Go Burg Go! Let's get the entire cheering sections there and really go for it, Pirates! Play hard! Win the SOC!

The good news out of this for Wheelersburg is that they only need to win against Northwest OR South Webster to guarantee a share of the SOC. So one bad game won't knock them out of the title race.

By the way, nice game tonight. And it was kind of fun to watch the Valley kids get hot on the 3-point shot late in the game. It gives a hint of things that could be in the tournament. Five 3-point shots in ten minutes... Not to mention the other 13 points they scored in that ten minute period.

Doc, did I hear right that the Pirates were up by as many as 38 points in this game?

Never 38 that I recall. 62-25 was when the last starters were pulled in the third. Valley though put on a nice 12-0 run after that to cut the lead to just 62-37 and they got as close as 20 points a couple of times.

I thought it did get to 38 rabbit (60-22). Maybe I'm mistaken; just from talking to some others after the game we thought that was the bigges lead the Pirates had.

I though Wheelersburg played great for three quarters. The only good thing that came out of the fourth quarter was that several of the Pirate starters were able to get some rest for the big week coming up (Tonight @ Gallia; Wed. @ NW and Friday night against South Webster to close out the gym).

You would be right. Andy hit a basket in the third quarter that put the Pirates up 60-22 and then hit two free throws a bit later to make it 62-25. I had thought it was 59-22 but that is why I write things down and don't memorize the whole game. :)
