You'd hardly know he's there, and the kids respond.
I dont know if that was a possible shot at easterns coach c, but if it was--could we just have one thread without bashing a coach...please??

Not a shot or slam at all, I have alot of respect for the elder Caldwell, probably one of the most respected and winning coaches in this area, I just don't like the constant yelling and stomping the foot. Not a condemnation, just a comparison.
I had no intent on slamming Howie. You can't knock his record.
My apologies.
I just have never been a fan of his "style". Dale Earnhardt was a winning driver, and respected him, but still didn't like his "style" of driving. Some did. See my point?

alright, it's time once again for my confucius wisdom...lol. Let's start with the projections of Eastern basketball in the tournament. The eagles are young, inexperienced, injury and sick plagued, and not the most talented group. To their credit, they are trying to work hard, but they are not implementing the concepts taught by their future Hall of Fame Coach. Although I appreciate optimism, positive attitudes, and support from fans, we must also understand that high school basketball is not a water faucet. You can't just turn it on come tourney time. We're not dealing with the Spurs or the Mavs who play every regular season with ease and 'turn it on' for the playoffs. We're dealing with 15-18 yo high school athletes who probably practice like they play. It's unfair and a bit misleading to suggest a nice tourney run is in store for the eagles. Let's refocus our concentration on learning to win regular season games and implementing fundamentals. One game at time.

I didnt think you were...I totally understand your point--but some people dont...like on the last eastern thread, everyone went crazy about the coach and it seems on all of these online forums everything is always the coaches problem. But yeah, i see your point--you can have two completely different coaching styles, and be effective either way. Look at Bobby knight--and Coach k from duke. I dont think there is anything they do the same, yet both very successful.

well...i meant their coaching style(the yelling as opposed to the encouragment, etc.)--not really philosophy...but thanks for stating.
i dont know what show i watched, but it was on espn and they did a test with free throws between coaching styles of coach k and bob knight--the yelling, or encouraging thing--and actually, the yelling was a better free throw percentage.

Is this like that John Edwards deal where "pops" denies "boy." Someone who really knows please shed some light on this. In the mean time, I think "boy" hangs one on "pops" this time to the tune of about 15 points. First time around the Does got slobber knockered by surprise. Wont happen twice. "Boy" is too wiley for that. Unless the refs cheat of course.
