Thoughts? If the Pointers win this one the OVC is all theirs. Pointers by 11.

For Peake to win, they'll hafta have a high shooting %age & SP a low one, as SP will get more shooting opportunities. But nothing's set in stone; that's why they play the games!

SP should be favored by 10, but Peake CAN win with supreme effort, a coupla hot shooters, some cold SP shooting, and a barrel fulla LUCK.

I just think its great to see this peake team with a chance at the title, nothing like the peake teams we are used to. . . but oh well
anyways yeah phill is correct. . .
SP is the larger more skilled team. . but its basketball. . not a very technical sport when you break it down to the fact. . . .if you shoot a high % the peake can win. . if not. . they don't have a chance

And if my math is correct, if SP wins they win the OVC. Is that correct? SP would improve to 9-0, and Chesapeake, who's in second, would be at 7-2.

I would expect this to be a packed house, as it usually is when we go to Chesapeake.

yeah . . or well its just your overall league record that matters. .
so say SP (this is random) lost twice this year to coal grove!!!!
well they would be evenly ranked with any other two loss (in league play) team in the league
but in real world terms.. . . this game is SPs OVC championship game

Can Chesapeake be like the New York Giants, and pull off a big upset against the powerful, undefeated Pointers of South Point???

No one is giving the Panthers a chance, but I'll still be cheering for them!

Chessy has a very good team this year and I think they can beat SP if they are on top of their game. Play hard till the end boys. Go Peake!

If the Panthers play the way they are capable of, there is no doubt that they can come out on top. That is the great thing about basketball, anything can happen on any given night.
Go Panthers beat the pointers!!

If the Panthers are shooting hot, they can win against SP. It's been awesome to watch the Peake play all year long. No matter what happens this week, we've had a successful and honorable season. Keep up the good work guys! :-D

Congratulations to the 2008 OVC Champion Pointers who took a 71-62 victory at Chesapeake tonight. South Point jumped out to a 15 point lead in the 2nd quarter only to see the Panthers battle back to take a 2 point lead midway through the third period. South Point then went on an 8-0 run and led by 6-10 points the remainder of the game. The Pointers hit their free throws in the final quarter, and are very deserving of the championship.

OVC, OVC, OVC!!!!!!
Mayo with 28, Weed with 13 and Woody with 11. Great outcome although the Pointers should have beaten them by much more. Pointers played sloppy but played hard the whole game. Peak is really scrappy and never could really get over the hump to get fully back into the game!
