Southern was down 13? points I think into the 3rd qtr, but hustled back to a 10 point, 63-53 score. It was much closer throughout the game than the score would indicate.

What was cool was the Eastern's players came over and made a "tunnel" with the Southern students!! Classy!!

Eastern's game was pretty much down to the wire!!!

I thought that was a very classy thing also. We maybe cross county rivals during the season but everyone (I would hope) always likes to see the MEIGS COUNTY kids keep on advancing...

Yea..Hats off to the 'Does and also to the Eagles. I was very proud of the way that Eastern fans showed support for Southern tonight. Kind of gave some goosebumps with the green in the tunnel seeing as though there is a huge rivalry during the seasons between the two schools and the past between them. And I know that Southern returns the favor as many of their fans came to Athens HS early to root on the Eagles. Good luck in the rest of the tourney to both teams!
