Belpre last beat Burg in the 2003 sectional finals at Rio Grande.

Actually Wheelersburg beat Belpre (the last time Belpre lost to Wheelersburg) in the '03 Pirates.

Belpre defeated the Pirates in the 2004 Sectional Finals, not in 2003.

Can anyone from Wheelersburg give me some info on the team. Who is their leading scorer and rebounder. Wondering what some of the key matchups may be.

No scouting report just don't know much about them. I just wondered who their top players are other than Spradlin. That's the only kid I've heard about. As good as their record is I'm sure they have more than that.

There point guard Jenkins is really tough. Lightning quick to. Stegman is pretty tough down in the paint.

Let's see, they don't like to get very physical, and their game is all finesse. Look for the big guys underneath to pop out and shoot a lot of threes, just to draw you out, and when they get double teamed, they never dish. The tall guard really can't dribble or pass very well, and their coach is a mellow sort of guy who just let's the kids play. The center tries to block every shot, so go ahead and go around him. Watch out when they run and gun, cause they can get out of control and dunk it like crazy. That's a real downer for your crowd and players.

(This could be a lot of fun!)

What the Pirates have acomplished the past 3 or 4 years is awesome Proud you're in our District (Fantastic Job) That being said Belpre has players that may be as bad a matchup for Wheelersburg as Spradlin will be for Belpre.
We at Belpre are hoping that one day our program can return to the tournament sucsess they enjoyed in the 1990's and early 2000's. To get there, to be the giant you got to be a giant killer. Belpre needs to play better than they have all season but it's tournament time thats what teams that advance do. I think if we can bring the big time D and stay away from the turnovers, this could be a game in the 4th quarter. All year long when these kids have been in striking distance come the 4th quarter they've owned it. Hopefully a close game down the stretch and we find a way just like we have all year.
