When I say "assume" and "guessing" I am not talking about their behavior. I am talking about them being good athletes as youth. Also, yes, they are just teenagers. That means they have plenty of time to change. My posts were not a condemnation of them as people for life, nor was it meant to generalize "every" member of the team.

I'm not the only one hearing these things. I will take your word for it about the Crooksville game. Maybe they were playing dirty, and what I witnessed was a result. I was just relaying that people at the game (not from Crooksville) were saying that the behavior was typically bad. Who knows, maybe my information was bad. Maybe the media information was bad also. Maybe it is all sour grapes trying to spread it, and they got the info to me right as Fairland was responding to dirty treatment.

Also, it doesn't matter what is said on here. Everyone will forget all of this in a week. I was just putting two and two together when thinking of what I saw, heard, and read on this thread.

Judge Smales wrote:Buck, I have a feeling that you are probably a good person that has a real passion for his team. With that I have no problem. However, when more people in the gymnasium are paying more attention to your actions than the ballgame, it is a distraction. I, like a previous poster above, said to the person beside me "That guy won't be here long!" I also told my father that if he ever saw me act like that when my son is playing and I quote "Beat the mortal hell out of me!" He responded "Believe me I will!"
With that said, if you are a former official you certainly must know that it is required that any fan that is ejected from a game MUST leave the premises immediately! My problem is that Mr. Kight not only allowed you to stay in the cafetorium and watch the game on the big screen but rewarded your actions with a cold Pepsi! I agree you seemed perfectly harmless. However, when you were asked to leave the gymnasium, in my opinion you have lost your privilege to watch the game. Also, what would have happened to our school district if you would have not been so kind after the game and waited on the official and caused some sort of harm to him? You guessed it! A huge law suit against the Jackson City School District, which by the way I am a taxpayer in. It is clear that both you and Mr Kight used very poor judgment on Saturday night. I am not only contacting the AD but will also be contacting the official so he may take the appropriate actions with the Ohio High School Athletic Association to make sure this does not happen here again. Please remember that there is a fine line between passion and stupidity! Good Luck to you and the Dragon's the rest of the season.
:-D

Judge- I need your advice. I was ejected from a game in 1986 but the official that ejected me allowed me to watch the game from a chair in the corner of the gym. My questions is do I face future litigation for not leaving the property?

G W at this time I believe you are in the clear. Unfortunately, there is a statute of limitation on stupidity. In my opinion putting you in a chair in a corner (hopefully in a dunce cap) serves as appropriate punishment for someone of your maturity level.

P.S. - For the record at no time did I see Buck running down the bleachers either. He was just very loud and obnoxious. And none of the Fairland players were acting like "punks" even when Lamb got T’d up. He simply dropped the ball and walked away. Any criticism of the Dragon's players acting like thugs is not warranted. Good Luck Dragons beat North Adams!

Say what you want and I know some of you that are brainwashed will. Alexander can beat the teams they are supposed to but very very rarely can they beat a team that on paper is a little better. Once again, no tournament run for the boys! Why oh why cant Coach Guthrie coach both the girls and boys?!! Notice they can beat the on paper better teams. That's because Coach Guthrie knows the game of basketball and can TEACH it. He knows how to DEVELOP talent. The boy's program at Alexander has not been able to do this for sometime. Say what you may, it's time for a change! It's time that Alex teams get to compete and beat teams at tournament time. You have the talent, now get the coach!

Interception what makes you think Coach Guthrie can coach the boys team? Just because you have sucess in a female sport doesn't always mean you can be sucessful at a male sport. Just ask Doug Hale he is the most sucessful girls coach around but he coached the boys varsity at Oak Hill with very little sucess. He becomes the girls coach a the rest is history.

Coach Gabriel has done a good job this year. There is limited talent there and only at 2 spots. I only watched 4 games but one they held Guthrie from VC to 10 or 12 points and they did finish 2nd in the league were everyone had picked them at the bottom of the league. District Coach of the Year two years ago - to not having a clue. Do everyone a favor and think before you run your mouth about another coach.

I only noticed 2 attitudes on Fairlands teams, one who got a T and the other who was a good player but would shake his head after a bucket. It made me laugh because it looked so stupid. He is a great player and doesnt need to draw attension to his self with his head shaking and leg kicking or what ever the hell he did when he dribbled up the court, Hotsauch moves. Fairland is a great team and nobody really expected Alex to give them a run for there money. The Tolar boy would have really helped the Spartans out and I think next year if these teams meet it will be a great game to watch.

Look, I never called any of them "thugs." I was talking about whining and obnoxious arrogance. It's not a huge deal.

I only posted because I thought I had enough info to go with it, and the combo of a parent being tossed.

1. I saw some extra laughter and showing up of Crooksville.
2. A guy next to me said, "No surprise. This is typical of them."
3. Another guy says, "They whine about every call that goes against them and they show up the refs."
4. Radio guys say "they were told to watch Fairland's behavior."
5. Radio guys made multiple comments about behavior while speaking highly of Chesapeake.
6. Parent is tossed from the game. Role model and molder of one of the players.

Look, my mom is known for being loud-mouthed at games. She has never been tossed. When I was in high school, I flat out tried to get tossed from three seperate games as a member of the student section. I had money on it. Never once was I tossed. It takes something unless you're a coach or player.

I'm not talking about this anymore. It's dumb and not important. None of the kids deserve a great deal of criticism. It was an observation that was backed by multiple people. BTW, I never heard any Fed Hock person bash a Fairland player after seeing the FH/Fairland game.

I've seen it at Nelsonville-York, and it was well-deserved. Everyone just looked at each other and smiled.

This is why they will always be "punks", because they have been encouraged to act this way their entire lives and awarded for it.

I was there and fairland has some issues. Punks may not be the best word for them. They have attitudes bad. Crying about every call against them. They need to remember how for years they took a beating by everyone and it will happen again soon.

Bucking Red, your behavior is an embarassment. I wasn't at this game, but I've seen you in action. I'm not kidding when I say this: There was a game this year in which my little boy said "That guy's a jerk." Kids don't need parents like you to be their legacy on the field or on the court. You stand out more than your talented son. Patethic.

This has gotten ridiculous. Quit bashing the guy and the team. Any team that doesn't play with intensity and emotion won't last long in this tournament. Basketball is a physical sport with a lot of trash talking and hacking going on that most people don't even see. Baumgardner had an 8 inch gash down the side of his arm after the game. No contact there, uh. If you can't handle it, stay out of the gym. As for the players and their respective attitudes, these kids are all good, respectful kids who are supported by their good, respectful families - Bucking Red included. And for those of you who were traumatized by the behavior of the Fairland group, fear not. Unless you drop by the Convo Sunday, you won't be exposed to it any longer.

Seeing North Adams in years past and seeing the Fairland players complain all the time, I'd say North Adams wins by 20 while the Fairland players are still holding their hands in the air as to say I didn't foul
