Congratulations to both teams on a hard-fought game. Both teams had moments where they could have played better. Minford outscored the Pirates in the first quarter and tried to hold on. The teams played even in the second quarter and Wheelersburg outscored the Falcons in both the final two quarters for the win.

Congrats to the Lady Pirates!! Couldn't make it to the game but listened to it on a MP3 player in Walmart the whole time. People probably thought we were crazy the way we acted sometimes!

Those of us who HAVE watched this Pirate team develop over the last 3-4 years know the quality they are and their strength of character. Those girls are not going to be on here reading or writing so there is really no point in talking them up. They are too busy working on the next game to worry about what has or has not happened. They are the hardest working team I have ever seen in girls basketball!!! The number of times I saw Jamie Clevenger limp, from a soccer game she was not suppose to be playing in, to the basketball court and meet up with several other starters to have a shoot around after a volleyball game, was numerous. That disciplined dedication to each other was noticiable. None of these girls play for themselves. They play for their team.

These girls don't care what anyone says about them and their regular fans don't either. They know what does matter and it is not what is written on here.

Well Burg Grad since you brought it up, the better team DID lose. Minford made some mistakes but, the refs did not help their case. It is just a shame to see such a great team get screwed out of the district championship. All you Burg fans should kiss the refs because they really helped you guys out. I'm just glad that the old burg man didn't die or have a coronary at the end of the game....lol...You guys got all the calls the entire game and freaked out when one call went against you. Consider yourselves lucky that there wasn't a good officiating crew at this game. Ohh and Burg Grad....sorry for giving my opinion on here, I thought this was America!
