Gallia Academy vs. Greenfield Mclain @ Convo 8:15p.m 2/22
Mcclain is fairly young and has only a couple seniors that play regularly. Hopefully the younger players will be ready to play and not be nervous. I personally have not played at the convo but I have seen several good players get nervous and not play well on that court. I think it will be similar to the Unioto game: low scoring and close.

I would think GM would have to be the favorite in this one, but due to their style of offense I wouldnt be surprised to see Galia pull out the "w". Greenfield slows everything down and plays great "D". They run a very patient offense and takes quality shots. If Gallia does not let the Greenfied "D" take over the game and do not take bad shots (which happens a lot playing the Tigers). They have a legit chance of winning.

Zollo is playing well on the glass & Polley carried the Tigers vs. Unioto. However, they are freshman & sophomore, respectively. Therefore senior Jeremy Webster will look to take over this game early on as the young cubs get used to the Convo. 15+ by #44 will be enough as he has come up big at the Convo before each of the past two seasons. McClain 44, Gallipolis 32.
I personally do not like the offense that Greenfield is running. There is not enough motion, too many guys standing still. Their offense might work well in the scol, but maybe not in the tourney.
Against Unioto Polley did run right to the rim a lot of times, b/c Unioto did a nice job of pushing greenfield outside the paint. Galia may try the same thing.

I think it gives that illusion because everyone plays a zone against McClain. You are correct though, too much perimeter passing going on. Need to penetrate a zone to beat it (and shoot even MORE freethrows!)

Gotta go with GM here. As much as VanMetre is a tyrant on the sidelines, you have to give him credit...his boys D it up! I would say GM and Burg are the two best defensive teams around. With GAHS struggling to score, I see GM by double digits easy. Which will be hard to do with GAHS playing OZ ball and slowing it down. Good luck to both.

Hopefully the weather will not cancel the game or keep fans from attending. I know the TIGER NATION will be there no matter what!

Word is that Gallia Academy is playing their best ball of the year at the right time. Good Luck Blue!

Now that's a low scoring 1st quarter. Is that because both are slowing it down or because they just can't hit shots?
