I watched Burg play VERY early on @ Oak Hill (when they still had 6'7 Love) and Burg shot about 4%....shot way less free throws and it still took a last second foul call that shouldn't have been called for Oak Hill to squeak by....since then Burg has improved by leaps and bounds and with one of the most consistent players in 6'5 D1 signee Drew Spradlin and a much better shooting Jenkins and a coach who has done as much as anyone.....this is Burg's game to lose.

Huntington is the only SVC team with a chance to beat Burg......but not like they are playing now....but if they can get back kicking vs Peake the district finals should be a great game.

Papers on teh wall in the lockeroom don't mean anything in the 2nd half of a big game at the Convo.

Burg by 15.

I agree with socfan in the fact that if Matt Jenkins continues his stellar play, the Burg can go far. He makes the Pirates go and IMO is the best point guard in the area.

Hes not giving anyone any locker room material.

REDSTREAKFAN, please go check out the huddle, I responded to arrogance on there accordingly.

easy guys...it's too early...The Burg does have experience and a great coach, but tournament time...all kinds of crazy stuff happens on every level. I'm a big Piketon fan and I want to see our boys out there playing their guts out. I don't think Lisath goes for that "locker room material" crap...nor do I think the Piketon kids care about all of the predictions. Like Barrick, Lisath knows what it takes to get to the "Big Dance", but not only that his two State Championship rings proves he has an inkling of what it takes or how to win it! I'm not saying Piketon will win the state, but I'm sure coach Lisath will put them in the best possible position to win, as will Barrick for the Burg....should be fun to watch!

I would hope the Streaks come ready to play. Wheelersburg has to be considered the odds-on favorites based on their recent tournament success. For Piketon to win, they have to play team ball, and they must continue to spread the wealth on offense.

The answer to beating Wheelersburg is to find a way to break down their aggressive defense. Haven't seen any team as of late able to do this. They are just flat out quicker than their opponents and shut down the dribble penetration and deny the passing lanes extremely well. They also must be controlled on the offensive boards. Alot of points scored last week by the big men were offensive put backs.

IMO, this is probably one of the best defensive teams Burg has had in awhile.

I have watched both teams play and they are both good teams. Should be a really good game but I think the Burg will get the win.

Burg SHOULD win the game but I wouldn't think it would be by more than 5.

The Burg may have a great defense..But the Streaks has seen a better
Defense when they played Col. Mifflin...And only be down by 4 late 3rd Qtr.
Good luck both teams.....Who ever PLAYS THEIR HEART OUT WINS THIS GAME...

I have following the Burg every since the Cavs defeated them in early December. They have not lost since and I continued to say they were one of the better teams in the area. I felt and still believe they are stronger and better then the Hungtington Huntsmen (AP higher ranking).

With that said and Piketon losing twice to the Huntsmen, the Burg may be to much for Piketon, but don't discount Coach Lisath. He to knows how to win and anything can happen on the big stage. This will be a touch physical game. Both teams have solid inside play and go to players. My expectation is Spradlin is to much (experience and quality) and the Burg rolls on to the Final Four.

GO CAVS!!!

Burg easy.
Burg by 15.
Burg by 30.
Burg by 50.

I know we are just supporting our boys out there and on here, but I've got one thing for you all.

Ironton over South Point. One and done for a fantastic 20-0 team.

Crazy stuff happens at this level as we all know. I'm not saying anything that hasn't already been said.

So boys....if you're reading this crap (and I hope you aren't) stay tough and play like the team that you are. Back-to-back years in the final four and no one thought you would have such a successful year like you have had this year. Prove them wrong and take it one game at a time. ;-)

First off, I haven't seen anyone on here say the Pirates would win by 30 or 50 points. The Cal Preps put on by Mad Dogg are a joke as was pointed out by a Wheelersburg fan. We have tried our best to get him to quit putting that crap on here, but he's obviously to simple minded to see that it's garbage.

Second, I could almost gaurantee that most of the posts on here saying the Burg will win by 15 or 20 points are not Burg fans, but probably people that have seen them play. We all know that this is going to be a tough game and will probably be close and decided by free throws in the waning minutes of the game.

Third, South Point may have went 20-0, but they were not a fantastic team. They were a team that plays in a weak league, and just like Chesapeake in years past, go 20-0 in the regular season and then usually make an early exit in the tourney. As soon as I saw that South Point had to play the winner of the Ironton/Rock Hill game I knew they would be one and done because I figured Ironton would knock off RH and then do the same to SP.
