2/25 Western vs. Reedsville Eastern

I know nothing about Easter, but Western Pike is capable of advancing. Shanks a 6'5" swing man that is athletic as anyone plus a decent shooter. Smithson needs to step up in this one and the Indians need to limit Eastern to one and done crashing the boards. I miss saying Phabulous Phils Phighting Pheatherheads, I will have to come up with something new for Coach Harrop!

... it will be a good to see Reedsville Eastern back at the Convo ... obviously lacking the size of EHS teams of the past that Coach Caldwell has brought to the Convo BUT with that said I'll be rooting the Eagles on in this one ... when I saw the youngsters play in the Athens Preview I was excited about their upcoming season - getting to the Convo has to be "sweet" for the boyz led by Jake Lynch ... I said back in November he was going to be special - looking forward to seeing how he and the other youngsters have grown under Coach Caldwell this season ...

I think Eastern's size may hurt them a little. Shanks and Smithson may be the difference in this game. However, I think Eastern's guardplay may be a little stronger.

I believe the Mighty Indians can come out with a Victory, if they play to their potential. They need to start playing their kind of game. Shanks can and will be a force to be reckoned with. Smithson needs to get on the boards and play smart ball. Kier always seems to come from out of no where, like a secret weapon. Downing and Penwell will be right in the mix of things if they play hard and play smart. I have seen Penwell out-rebound boys quite a bit bigger than him. These boys can do this, they have the tournament experience and they have the Pride of Latham Tribe behind them all the way. Someone will need to step up as the leader of this team and keep the whole team motivated. Goodluck to the Mighty, Mighty, Indians.

I know im going early to this game like alot of other waterford fans and rooting for eastern. I hope some Eastern fans stay and root for waterford.

No one is giving the Eagles a chance. Its far fetched, but the Eagles have a legit shot at winning this game. If the young guys all play dynamic and all around solid basketball then I believe Eastern has the better team. Mikey Johnson is only 6'3" or so but can jump like he is 6'8". The senior Kyle Rawson is a 6'1" big man playing more like 6'5". Look how he handled Cunningham from Waterford. And the best player Jake Lynch can get the ball up the court and hit 8 threes in a game if he is on. He will score 20 or more. And the other guys, Seniors Josh Collins and Alex Burroughs need to play good D and contribute a little with Rebounds and Scoring. Other young guys, like Kelly Winebrenner has scored over 10 this year and Jordan Kimes. It can happen. Plus Eastern had Howie Caldwell, a coach who has been to te Convo countless times, and won there. He could win this game himself, or be the deciding factor. There is no doubt that he will coach to the best of his ability. The players have to play at the best of their ability now.

Are you sure Johnson is 6'3''? I didnt even think Eastern had anyone over about 6'1'' and Rawson is listed at 6'0''. But I do agree that Johnson has great potential and athleticim, he has almost the leaping ability of Hendershot for Waterford, maybe by the time he is a senior he will.Lynch is a nice guard and he'll need to have the hot hand to beat Western.Rawson did play well against Cunningham in the 2nd meeting, but did you see how he was dominated in the first meeting? Cunningham didnt start and was benched nearly the entire first half by coach Simms and he still had 15 pts and 14 boards and had his way with rawson. Also Hoge had his way inside in that game, with 18 pts and 17 boards in that contest. I would love to see waterford and eastern at the convo on a neutral floor. But they both need to fin first. That would be great for the TVC.

Remember the 6'7" Cody Dill was listed as 6'3".

I've said it before, if Cody Dill was 6'3", then I'm 4'10", and anyone who knows me knows that I'm a good tad more than 6'. LOL!
