Great win for the Vikes they refused to lose!!! GM had a great gameplan and and it almost payed off. Their "D" is as advertised VC made the adjustments they needed at the half and pulled out the "W". Great game for Guthrie, Stewart and Parter, all in double figures.
Guthrie had 17
Stewart had 16 (not sure)
Prater had 10
Eberts with 7 (I Think all in 2nd half)
Cant speak for the Tigers Anouncers have not mentioned it

BLUEGRASSVIKE wrote:A key to this game that I havent seen put up yet is tempo. I know the Tigers are, as always, going to try to slow it down to almost a dead stop, and VC will try to run. I would think VC would like to get this game in the 60's or 70's and GF would like to keep it in the 40's or low 50's. I have a hard time thinking this team will keep the Vikes from getiing into the 50 point range, therefore I think the Vikings will win this ball game. However, if Greenfield is able to set the pace and tempo of the game it could go either way.
GO VIKES!!!!! 1 more for a district title!!!
You must be psychic Blue Grass, Nice call

Well, I predicted Vinton County's scoring on the money but was a little off on McClain's. At least I wasn't as far off as I was in the Chillicothe game lol.
Congratulations to Vinton County and good luck against the Cavaliers.

Re: 2/29 Greenfield McClain Vs. Vinton County
I usually only post on the scores of my son's jr high team. But I cannot help myself this time.
What a terrific job Matt has done with this team. I love to watch this team play. It is TEAM TEAM TEAM.
There was a lot of talk about the McLain defense, but the Vikings played some great defense especially in the second half.
This team is unselfish, and all know their roles. All reflections of their coach.
Congratulations to the Vikings

Combs really has done an excellent job, he really has. I wonder if anyone has tried to steal him away, I can't wait to see what he will do against the Cavs. The Vikes should have a lot of confidence and not be intimidated after watching LE execute a great game plan and taking CHS to the wire.

Re: 2/29 Greenfield McClain Vs. Vinton County
Congrats to VC on a big win. After the first part of the game, I was not sure VC was going to score 30 against GM. GM was hitting everything and VC could not get in their flow. Something clicked (name Guthrie) and VC just slowly worked theirselves back in the game. Hat off to the VC staff for keeping the kids composed.
This was an excellent basketball game and both teams deserve a pat on the back. In the end, I thought VC was much stronger then GM and they continued to attack the basket. Also, I thought VC slowed #15 (Pollo) for GM, after he got on a roll early.
Thursday night will be a big night for both VC and the CAVS. May the best team win and I am sure they will both leave it on the floor. Maybe we start making this an annual event at the Convo.
GO CAVS!!! REFUSE TO LOSE!!!

The last minute of the game made up for sitting through that first half. I've never seen a VC crowd light up like they did tonight.
VC changed into a different team in the second half, and especially the fourth quarter. I'm mighty impressed that they never played like they were going to lose. Next week should be interesting, just like the entire post season has been for the Vikes.
Great job to GM, they never stopped.
