TVC 2008
Re: TVC 2008
From what I hear, 2 from last year chose not to run, but 1 is back from the year before last, and I have no doubt that Coach Fogle will have the 4 best runners when needed. New Year, New Team!

Thats all I got
Cody should win it this year he has already done well in football, and basketball. Just hope he has the endurance.

I hope he does to but I also want Crislip to win as well. I know them both and are friends with them. We'll see who trains harder till then. As long as they dont run under 4:30 then I will be happy. ha

Crislip dose improve throughout the season. He finished last year with 4:36 1600, and around 10:00 in the 3200.

When i was practicing baseball yesterday, i looked over and seen a lot of track memebrs for southern... I look for Meigs' boys and girls to be tough in the TVC ohio..
Re: TVC 2008
Looking for Belpre boys to have a successful season and make a run at defending their TVC crown. I think the Belpre girls will come on strong and improve on their TVC finish from last year.
LETS GO EAGLES!!!

Re: TVC 2008
Four years ago, Belpre had an 8th / Jr High 4x400 relay team that was listed in The Parkersburg News Wood County Championship meet results with a time of about 4:00. Warren's JH 4x400 Boys were undefeated SEOAL champions with a school record time of 4:04. The two teams never competed head-to-head.
Would anyone know who was on Belpre's 4x4 team then and if they are still in Track?

Re: TVC 2008
Well I would give the nod on both the girls and boys side of the TVC Ohio to the Meigs Marauders...BUT...I just don't think their coach has any clue what he's doing LOL. I think his name is Ken-a-d-d or Kennedy or something like that. I feel so bad for those Meigs kids.
Re: TVC 2008
blarge,
I don't know if I can help you much with that question, but I coach MS Track for Vinton County. At our league meet, we won the 4x400 with a time of 4:19, with Meigs coming in 2nd at 4:27. Belpre was 6th somewhere in the 4:40's, but for some reason, I didn't write their time in my book.
Randolph from Belpre won 3 events that year (1600, 800, and LJ), Lopreste was 3rd in the 1600, and Walker was 4th in the 1600 and 2nd in the 800. So it is conceivalbe these three may have all been on the same relay team at some point in time. If I remember correctly from last year's HS TVC meet, all three are still running.
I would have like to have faced Warren that year. I had an outstanding team. I took a small group of "B" team kids to Federal Hocking that year. It was raining cats and dogs, and they decided to cancel the high jump, so we decided once all of the kids competed to leave. I never did get result from that meet. I would have loved to have seen how many point Warren's team finished with. I do remember them sweeping the boys' 1600.
Do you have results from that meet? If so I would love to get a copy.

coach k,
I don't have actual results to that meet, but I know that the Warren team won by a very large margin. It seemed that they won by a large margin at almost every meet that year. That was a very talented team.

runningwild12,
I figured they did. It's not to say we would have won, but for the sake of competition, I would have like to have seen how we compared. Unfortunately, most of those kids I had don't run (work, burnout, senioritis). As it is the way with teenagers, their interests change.
One kid out of that group who does still run is Ryan Stewart. He finished 2nd at the district meet in the 100 and was a tie breaker away from qualifying to regional in the high jump. I'm sure he will be in the hunt at the end of the season for a league championship or two.

Re: TVC 2008
Coach k,
I only have handwritten results of the 2004 JR Ogg meet at Fed Hock, and only for the largest scoring boys running events. My notes say, "[i]68 deg., non-stop rain 400-1000pm...HJ cancelled..
The track was puddled and times were slow...hard asphalt, no spikes..
We won the 400, 800, 1600, and 4x400M
I knew how dominant VC was the previous year, and could tell you all didn't bring your whole team.
I even have some video of the 400, 200 and 4x400.
Thanks for the info.
Again, my only results are for our boys...If Jerry Weaver is still at FH, I'm sure he would be glad to furnish you with anything he may have.

blarge,
Thanks for giving what info you had. I do know I had the winning long jumper at the meet, and my high jumper was still in when they cancelled the high jump. They just went to fill an event, but weren't competing in anything else.
My 8th grade group in 2003 was the best class I've had with the 2004 class not far behind.
I e-mailed Federal Hocking's AD today asking for any previous year's results.

Re: TVC 2008
I have a question. How many years was the TVC meet held at VC? And will the meet be altered between sites from now on?

N-Y has the honor this year I'm thinking my girls went there at least between the 2 of the 5 times? maybe wrong
Re: TVC 2008
What has happened in the past was an alpahbetical rotation through the league schools to host the meet with the other schools providing some workers for the meet. In 2002, which was the first year VC's new track was open, Meigs hosted the meet, but the meet was held at VC. In 2003 Miller hosted the meet, and again they chose to use VC's track. In 2004 NY hosted the meet, but the meet was held at Athens. Over the past three years some of the schools (possibly Southern due to no runners/and Trimble) in the rotation declined "hosting" the meet. I think VC hosted in 2005, so naturally that's where it was held. I think Waterford then declined. Wellston hosted in 2006 and Alexander in 2007. Both years of course were at VC.
As for now, I don't know if there is a "rotation" among the schools anymore. When Athens joins the TVC next year, I believe there will be a three school rotation unless some other school decides to build a new track.
I hope that helps answer your question. I think all of what I wrote was accurate.

Re: TVC 2008
It would be nice to see all-weather tracks more often with TVC schools. Trimble, Eastern, Fed Hock, Meigs, Southern, Wellston, Waterford all do not have rubberized tracks. I would think Belpre would be in that rotation?
Re: TVC 2008
Emily dunfee from federal hocking is always a someone you look to be leading the pack inthe distance events and i also think Iris butcher is runnign track this year as well, hopefully the FH girls can start another streak!
