Re: Jackson AD job
Local guy from Oak Hill, who resides in Jackson, is probably one of the most qaulified for the job. Dustin Kilgour, 27 years old, he is the director at Ohio University Golf and Tennis Center and graduated from OU with a Master's in Sports Administration and a Master's in Business Administration.
He would do wonders for this athletic department and all the programs at Jackson High School.

A crapload, for a SE Ohio AD Job. Rumored to be $72,000 +, but I'm not from Jackson, so I don't know the facts. I may be way off the mark, but that is what I read on here.

Dusty would do a great job. I believe he worked for some Major league teams during an internship.

Re: Jackson AD job
I have no doubt that Dusty would do a good job. I just hope that the young, inexperienced Jason Snyder doesn't put a bump in the road for another young AD. I also heard a name of another young graduate of JHS that has a sports management degree. Tyler Pierpont. I believe these two young men would work there butts off. 40 applicants is a bunch. The board did say the starting salary will be more like $65,000.00 which puts us next to last in the league in AD salary. Even though 72K sounded like a lot of money, it was still only 4th in the league.

Re: Jackson AD job
Many of those other SEOAL athletic directors had millions of years experience in the educational system. That accounts for their pay rates.
Snyder was given that rate with no years in the educational system...

Re: Jackson AD job
I am going to bet Jackson does not hire another young inexperienced person. Not saying they could not do the job. you know the saying, Fool me once, shame on you,........
Look for an experienced person to be hired.
How soon will they hire? Will they wait until Summer to try and persuade others from other districts?

Re: Jackson AD job
Does anyone know if Paul Blankenship has actually applied for the job? He's the interim AD at this point, but is he willing to stay in that position after this year is over?
Re: Jackson AD job
Is that $65,000 - $70,000+ on top of their teaching/administration salary or is that just for being the AD?
Re: Jackson AD job
The same pay as the asst principal of the high school $67,411...with more for years experience.
Listening to Coach Hurst's comments after the final game he sure sounded committed to those kids in saying that they didn't know what they would have this time last year and they'll know what they have this year and on April 1st we'll get it going.

Re: Jackson AD job
I know some people that are ADs that also teach 6 classes a day that wish they could get it done in 10 1/2 months. They say that no matter if they are off over the summer they still get calls and stuff that they have to deal with. The calls and things just follow them home.

Re: Jackson AD job
The paper I read said 11 months and was voted 3-2.....Two memebers thought it could be done in 10 1/2 or 10 months.
