Nice win by the young Pirates. Looks like they are starting to get ball inside to Moore and he is producing.
Good win going into the tourney. Someone mentioned Burg knocking off Oak Hiil a few years back. I also remember a 9-11 Burg team n 1992 knocking off 20-0 and No. 1 in the state Chesapeake team in the sectional final and then making it all the way to the Regional championship before falling to Sparta Highland and 7'2" Jason Terry.

Wow! That one surprises me. Coach Barrick and the kids deserve a good win like that, and on the road to beat all.

Yes, but PHS already beat them by 35 and PHS is loaded with seniors and coming off a final 4 from last year. No way the burg hangs with PHS, they are to big and deep. PHS will win by 30 again. Just because they beat Waverly by 2 does not make them a dangerous team, they still have 13 losses. Valley, Ironton and PHS are they only three that will make a run in the tournament in this area.

Your crystal ball doesn't show Chesapeake making any noise in the tournament? They could have the easiest road to the district finals of all the top 4 seeds (which the #1 seed should).marshallman wrote:Yes, but PHS already beat them by 35 and PHS is loaded with seniors and coming off a final 4 from last year. Aint nobody from Portsmouth, especialy players and coaches looking past anyone, all these coaches and players was around when Valley knocked them out a couple years back, and last year when they had no problem with south point regualur season, then had to hang on to the final buzzer to get past them in tournament play, Coach Collins and his Staff will be reminding them they have to play hard for every second on the clock to win ANY GAME.
By the way, congrats to burg nice win.

Yes...curious as to how marshallman comes up with that analysis. Maybe "this area" only includes areas west of South Point!4th n Goal wrote:Your crystal ball doesn't show Chesapeake making any noise in the tournament? Yes, I'm only including Scioto County up to Ironton where I believe most fans in "this area" would travel to watch! Peebles, Chesapeake, Chillicothe and Fairland are all doing well too.pantherdad wrote:Yes...curious as to how marshallman comes up with that analysis. 4th n Goal wrote:If you look at the whole season, yes Burg is down, but they have lost 3 in OT and had 4-5 games where they lost by 5 pts or less. This team is not as bad as their record shows and could easily had a 10-12 win season. Barrick has been able to keep them in nearly every game by controlling the tempo. After losing all 5 starters from last years team and no seniors starting this year, the season has went similar to what was expected considering the experience and size advantage of most of the other teams in the SOCII.HItops wrote:Wow ...how in the world does this happen ....didn't burg win the first time too ? And almost same score ? Not sure ....someone will know on here for sure
I understand....i never count barrick out of any game ...been there... seen it ...hate it....hate to watch it...hate it when he crys and crys to refs ..... and hate it when he takes one that they shouldnt ...but that is why they play the game...and a coach coaches to the teams strengths .....but I still dont have to like it ...lol
