So we traveled up to Amish country this last weekend.

Didn't make it to the hardware store

But we had a good time. went to like3or 4 cheese house's with all the tasting of cheeses, I won't be eating cheese for awhile, got my fill to last a year.

Stopped at few stores here and there, had a great dinner then we headed home.

I always liked going this time of year. not everything is open but what is is not crowded like it is in the summer. you can actually move around and don't have to stand in line for things.

My wife wants to go up sometime this month of March. I really don't mind, its always pleasant and we have a different motive. She wants to stop at Valley View Homes.

I want to go back up in April, thats when their flea market opens back up. I don't usually buy much up there but I love looking at the things they have.

My sister got the web site that someone on here posted and ordered me a cherrywood noodle cutter for my birthday and gave it to me while I was in Alabama. I can't wait to try it out. I am going to make it up to amish country sometime. I've always wanted to go.

We plan on doing this as a week-end trip soon I've always wanted to go but with kids it makes it almost impossible cause their lives come first
We camped in Amish company the one and only time I ever went camping is not my cup of tea basically all we did is sit around and he fished and i was BORED

Late in the spring and during the summer, they have all types of things going on during the weekends. Car shows, music festivals and other things. It makes for a nice little trip a few times a year.

I'm so jealous! That is a trip that is on my have to list for sometime this year. Where is the flea market you're talking about located?

This is also one of my favorite trips. There are some really neat old stores off the main roads that are my favorites! I love the flea market but heard its closing tis summer, I cant remember what they are putting there in its place. I will try to look up and post some links to some really neat places. My family has been going there for years, so we have found some great places.

Two of my favorite places are Heini's cheese factory and Layman's Hardware. The homemade Amish potato chips sure do go nice with the fresh cheese. I have also picked some really good jerky while up there. The last trip we made up there we went out to one of the farms and took a tour of the home and also took a buggy ride. One of the young Amish ladies was baking homemade bread while we were there and we got to sample that also.
