D3 Girls Seeding

Post by 4thgoal »

How does the seeding for D3 look for 2016?

East
Wheelersburg 10-0-1
Southeastern 10-1-2 - Plays Minford on Tuesday. Winner of that game possibly #2 and loser goes to 3 or 4
Minford 7-4-2
Alexander 5-6-1
Zane Trace 3-8-1
Chesapeake 3-6-2
Portsmouth West 2-6-3
South Point 2-3-0
Fairland 1-4-2

West
Lynchburg 10-0-0
North Adams 8-2-2
Leesburg Fairfield 3-3-0
Eastern Brown 1-4-0
Westfall 2-4-2
Northwest 1-6-4
Peebles 1-3-0
Piketon 1-3-3
West Union 0-4-0

Maybe ACM has updated records for all teams since he has been doing a great job with the scores. I put what information is available on OSSCA, but unfortunately not all coaches record their results.

Is Lynchburg head and shoulders the easy favorite this year?

They are the favorite most years, but that's why we play the games...

I didn't word that right... I meant it more like, are they going to completely run away with it? they've had basically 2 competitive games, where they only won by 3 goals. Who could maybe threaten them?

They possibly could run away with it (and have before). The way the brackets fall this year, they will play the other Waverly district winner, instead of someone from the east or central district. Obviously, LC is the favorite regardless of opponent from the SE, but you never know what could happen.

The Minford vs. Southeastern game is a big one tonight for seeding. Minford has 2 losses in the past week (Wheelersburg and Jackson) and Southeastern has a loss (Alexander) and tie (ZT) in the past week. Being on a bad skid going into the draw is never good.

The records that I have are about the same across the board. The only difference is one win or loss here and there. We will have the exact records on the tournament draw.

Southeastern's best player had been out for the past couple of weeks, but was back tonight in their win against Minford. She makes a huge difference for the Panthers. I'm not sure that they are at the level of Burg, but I could see them making a mini run before facing a Lynchburg or Wheelersburg.

That was a big win for SE and a tough loss for Minford. That was Minford's 3rd loss in a 6 day span.
