Zollo leaving McClain?

Post by go48 »

Word around town is that Zollo will be attending Dayton Chaminade next year. Anyone have more info on this?

that would be an interesting move.

devastating for McClain, but probably a good move for Zollo.

He may have to bide a bit of time, and will be forced to run more out of the post. But he will get a bit more exposure.

C-J is a very good school if he does. I would hate to see him leave the area, because the kid has some nice upside with his size and his ability to knock down the 3-ball.

Hopefully, these are just rumors, but you never know.

I believe, if he's going to transfer, he should stay another year. It's tough for sophomores to get a lot of PT, so another year of playing would be great for him. But, whatever he chooses to do, it's up to him and his family. Good Luck to him on whatever decision he makes.

It would be unfortunate for McClain to lose Zollo, because I think he will get much better under Coach Van Matre's coaching.......and it would really hurt after losing the Cox kid to Leesburg Fairfield the year before.......both Zollo and Cox played in the Greenfield junior high system.

I know at Portsmouth we here rumors every year of someone transferring for whatever reason, but the overwhelming majority of rumors are UNTRUE.......and are just that.....rumors.

Even if Zollo leaves, Greenfield McClain will field another competitive team.

McClain will be just fine without him. They are defending co-champs of the SCOL at the varsity level, champions at the reserve level, and undefeated at the freshman level. I have known his family for most of my life and they are doing what they think is best for them. I am sure that most of TigerNation will be rooting for him to do well in Dayton.

I heard his parents listed their house for sale so he must be moving. I also heard a rumor that Cox may be coming back to GF, not sure if its true.

I did not say it was best for him, I said his family is "doing what they think is best for them". I personally think he would be better off in Greenfield. There is more to going to school than what is between the lines on the court, I hope his family keeps that in mind. McClain is a good school with a lot going for it outside of basketball. As for rooting for him, I wish the best for all the local kids whether they be from Hillsboro, Greenfield, Highland County, adjacent counties, SE Ohio, whatever.

i always admired dante for staying at greenfield instead of trying to go to supposedly greener pastures. the only complaint i had about greenfield was their weak non league schedule which i might add has improved.

I have talked to the Cox kid and he is not going back to Greenfield.

Cox was only at GM for 8th grade. He is from Leesburg Fairfield.

I can't imagine a kid leaving such a strong program....that just graduated a kid that is playing in the Elite 8!

Ironman probably knows much more about the SHL than I do, but I would think that Cox is in a pretty good situation in Leesburg. Fairfield is a small division school with a lot of young talent coming up. If no one leaves and everyone stays eligible, I would think they will be the team to beat in the league in a year or two.

Didn't Chris Cox injure his ankle during the tourney? I hope he recovers ok. He is a good kid, and the leesburg program did fairly well last year.
