I could seriously see 4 of the District finalists being the top 4 seeds from Jackson! The regional should be loaded for bear!

After the hrs I spend reading this site, sometimes I feel like I could seed these teams and have never seen any of them play. Thats a huge compliment to the posters and the info they provide. Thx to everyone for the information that I would never be able to get any place else!

LetsGoPSU ... I totally agree about the info that the folks put up on SEOPreps - you can't get it anywhere else ... as long as some of have been on SEOPs you KNOW who are those posting who give out the straight up info vs those who are just a little "bias" in their posts LOL ... it has taken a few years BUT just about every single league Below the Lancaster-Dixon Line is covered ... most of the schools have posters who give up good info/scores etc. some leagues have great posters who I would classify as people in the know, and people who KNOW the game of basketball as well ... I am serious when I say that SEOPreps is THE BEST hoops site for high school hoops anywhere - there might be better sites for individual leagues somewhere BUT to find a site that covers 71 teams!!! - literally all 71 teams (72 when you add that foreign Wahama WVa team LOL) ... SEOPs covers over 1/4 of the state of Ohio !!! and does it better than any other news/sports source imo ...

Prayers PFloyd for safe travel and God's touch on your body this week. Surprised to see my Vikes get the 3 seed. They looked awesome as well as scary this season. They will be returning 4 starters next year regardless. Let's hope the 1 seed and not the 9 seed Vikings, show up for the tournament and shake some peoples heads!!!! How do we match up against Fairfield Union?

Were 25 days away from what many consider the best DAY OF THE YEAR ... Better than X-mas, New year and Thanksgiving all wrapped into one ... CHAMPIONSHIP SATURDAY at the CONVO!!!

Wait a second - since they added an extra Division III champion, championship Saturday actually begins on Friday night now ... lol

HERE YA GO FLOYD ... YOU CAN START DREAMING OF THE POSSIBILITIES NOW ...

Friday March 9th:

Chillicothe vs Logan Elm - 6:15
Warren vs Waverly - 8:15

(Talk about kicking things off with some big time match-ups - that would be one heck of a night of hoops!)

Saturday March 10th

Southern vs South Webster - 10:00 A.M. (Nothing like eating breakfast while watching my Tornadoes win a district title! lol)
Notre Dame vs Eastern Pike - 11:45 A.M. (Who really knows what DIV teams will actually be their - I'm still holding out hope South Gallia reaches the final)
Chesapeake vs Peebles - 5:00
Eastern Brown vs Ironton - 7:00
VALLEY vs PORTSMOUTH - 9:00 (Wow, talk about ending the districts in grand fashion - that's gonna be awesome if in fact both actually get their.)

... skidaddy - thanks for your words of support my friend ... I listened to the last quarter and a half of the VC vs Alexander last Friday night !!! wow! what a comeback - I believe the announcers said that Coach Combs boyz made a 37-15 run to get the "W" , a 28 point 4th quarter ... it sounded like a great game skidaddy and a tribute to the Vikes to not give up - great win it was ...

Unioto 55
Southeastern 47
Final

Unioto played great D in the 2nd half, with SE knocking down some shots late to push the score up. Adam Woods with a career high 14 and played outstanding overall for Unioto. Great PG matchup between SE's Dylan Miles and Unioto's Cole Murray, neither scored much, but controlled the game well for both teams. Miles is going to be special.

I'll get some stats up here in a little bit. I believe Michael Brown led SE with 14 after some foul trouble in the 1st half.

daniC ... you obviously know more about ALL of the SVC teams than I BUT having seen most of the teams in the league as well as the JV squads I REALLY like Southeastern NEXT year+ !!!! excellent group returning plus an great jv group moving up to the next level as well ... when I do my Pre-Season or even a "teams to watch" at the end of the season Southeastern is definitely on that list in the top 20 teams with Miles (freshman), Kellough (junior), Hice (soph), Allen (soph) + JV squad ... What do you think daniC - am I wrong in thinking that ? ...

I think you are definitely right on, the next 2-3 years should be fruitful for the Panthers! Unioto's JV evened up the league race tonight, but SE was without Freshman Jake Skeens.

SE would be my early #2 next year behind Piketon, who returns their entire starting lineup and 7 of their top 8. SE is going to be a team to watch for for a while!

... I wasn't going to give SE the SVC title LOL - I knew Piketon would be LOADED next year - Coach Lisath's boyz are getting lots of valuable varsity experience this season, they should make the trip to the Convo to likely bump heads with Portsmouth in that first Convo game - that in itself will be a great learning experience... with the Piketon squad having suffered a 57-79 setback to Portsmouth during the regular season - will be interesting to see the improvement in the youngsters ... I agree Piketon will be a beast to handle next season ...

I knew what you were saying, I was just tossing out my super early SVC look for next year. I'll throw in that my Shermans should be very competitive again with Detillion, Arledge, Minney, Rose, North, and the excellent JV team moving up as well.

But, this could be the 1st of a few trips to the Convo in a row for the Panthers. They have a tough matchup with Fed Hock, but I think they would be favored in that one. They travel to Huntington on Friday and host McClain on Saturday.

Unioto hosts Jackson tomorrow night and travel to Adena on Friday to round out the regular season.

Unioto actually wrapped up the JV league with the win tonight, moving to 12-1 in the league and 15-3 overall. They have started 3 freshmen at times at the JV level, while the Freshmen team just finished an undefeated SVC season as well. The program is moving stedily in the right direction and to think, only 3 years ago they were 1-20. Great job at all levels.

In tonight's game: Unioto shot 16-22 from the line, which is their top performance on the year.
Woods- 14 pts, 7 rebs, 3 assts, 4 steals
Arledge- 12 pts
Warner- 11 pts
Detillion- 10 pts, 11 rebs

Southeastern(11-7)
Brown- 14 pts, 6 rebs
Hice- 11 pts, 8 rebs
Kellough- 10 pts

Ironton has 2 very challenging opponants this week to finish off their very tough 2011-2012 schedule.

2-14 Chillicothe @ Ironton

2-17 Ironton @ Fairland

Ironton's schedule is absurd. No one will be even close to being as battle tested as the Fighting Tigers.

Ironton indeed has a brutal schedule, but they are a very good team and will only be better for it. As for the SVC next year, dont forget Piketon starts a freshman, and has another freshman that comes off of the bench. The jv team at Piketon was competitive with everyone this year without those 2 full time, and with those two will be pretty good even after next season. Brewster cam down to jv for maybe 1 or 2 games for 1 quarter and Southworth is getting 1 or 2 quarters top at jv. The league will be balanced for several years to come much like it is this season.
