Tough loss for the Eagles good win for Fed Hock.Losing Drew surely hurt Belpre but they should rebound Tuesday and clinch their share of the Hocking Division title against Eastern and win it outright Friday at home against Waterford. It is still possible that Belpre gets the number 1 seed this afternoon.LETS GO EAGLES!!!

Poorly officiated- yes. One sided calls- no. The officials didn't do FH any favors. With 3 minutes left in the game, the foul count was FH 8 Belpre 3. Belpre fouled FH 4 times in the last minute just to stop the clock and send Lancers to the line. I saw several poor calls but did not see any that were "one sided".

It was a rough physical game that didn't help either team but especially the smaller athletic eagles... Belpre's lack of depth, shot selection and failure to get back on defense were big factors. FH shot and rebounded well but their defense was the best I have seen from this group all year.

Nestor's injury slowed the eagles down early but he played in the 2nd half (obviously in pain) and I believe he scored the final points for Belpre. I hope he recovers quickly.

Good Luck to both teams in the sectionals.

PS- Jordan Thornhill is the obvious choice for Coach of the Year in the Hocking.

does your buddy know what he's lookin at? Shorthanded belpre and three fouls on belpre's point guard in the early 2nd quarter. One legitimate and two flops, both were scoring plays. Completely changed the game. For whatever reason officials love to call a charge. I see it at all levels. You guard your man he beats you he scores. Play better defense. This sissy slide under you and fall down is ridiculous. Legitimate charges only should be called. As far as the worst officiated game I wouldn't say that. Truthfully it's about what you see night in night out in the hocking. There is a definate home court advantage in the hocking. When belpre was in the ohio it did seem the officiating was more neutral, Why I have no idea. Anyway fed hock won belpre lost bottom line.

How did this completely change the game when Belpre won the second quarter? Does Belpre only have one player who can run the point?

Well put GW. Obviously, you were at the gym and saw how the game was "officiated". Oh, Hocking Coach of the Year - you are spot on. Jordan has done a fantastic job. Congrats to the Lancers on the nice Senior night win.

As for a few of the other comments in this thread, it is Sunday morning and obviously ignorance is bliss today.........

If you look back at my earlier post, yes I mentioned about our boys being sick, tired, and hurt. But if you read the rest of it, you will also see that I gave Howie and the Lancers credit for a great game and great win. They won and deserve the credit. However, these other factors did indeed hinder (slowed the process of) our boys' game. Are they excuses for losing? No. Did they decide the outcome of the game? No. It's all a part of the game, and even if we were 100% we still may have lost. Federal played great. But were these factors: Drew re-injuring his leg, Bryce being sick with the flu for three days, and the team being fatigued after playing a hard game Friday when we have no depth to begin with (only 6 full-time varsity players)... Yes I believe they were. Regardless, Federal Hocking won. Belpre lost. Good game Lancers and good luck the rest of the season and in the tourney.

Good luck to the Eagles in your last two regular season games and in the tourney! Let's win the TVC title and go on a tourney run!

I guess the officials were bad becasue they weren't from WV or the East District which is the only officials they use. Isn't all the officials they see come tournament time come from the southeast district or do the use East officials in the tournaments at Athens?
