I hear Piketon went 4-0 at Rio, without Cody Smith, Keenan Brush, Kenny Helton and other upperclassmen. Looks like kids from the 14-3 Reserve team has stepped up. That is great news for the Redstreak nation.

Great news for the streaks.....tough summer schedule ahead, and I hear Brush and Helton will miss the Rio Shootout this weekend.

I think Brush was in Texas and Helton was at Purdue University at a QB camp.

Streaks go 3-0 win pool play at Wittenberg, big wins over Valley View, Indian Lake, and Goshen, suffer first loss of the summer 49-48 to Waynesville in the tournament. To my understanding and coach L. you can correct me if I'm wrong, but Piketon took all soph's to the shootout.

Wins and Losses don't matter as much as getting kids to come out and play.........Taking your top 7 kids doesn't matter as much as taking 12 kids with the idea of providing depth and trying to improve your bench...................

By the way what does the SVC look like this year? Anyone have a breakdown of returners or possible league picks?

main man, if you read the posts, most of these games are being played by underclassmen mixed with last years starters. Summer is a busy time and kids have vacations and other sport requirements, so you rarely see a team that only takes its top 7 players.

I was reading on jjhuddle that the streaks played well at Miami. Going 3-0 on Saturday beating Cincinnati Oak Hills, Eaton, and Olentangy on day one and Losing at the buzzer to Western Brown and in the final seconds to Cincinnati Walnut Hills on Sunday. Sounds like the kids held their own against tough competition. Playing without Cody Smith, Kenny Helton, and a few other returning players is a good sign for a lot of depth.

Based on a e-mail I received today, The Streaks go 20-6 during Summer Team Camps and Shootouts:
4-2 vs D1
10-2 vs D2
4-1 vs D3
2-1 vs D4

Won Pool Play at Rio Grande, Wittenberg, and Miami. Also won Jackson Summer League. Keenan Brush and Evan Legg is still playing in AAU Nationals.

Coach L. Can you post your scrimmage schedule? I'm hearing you have Harvest Prep, Portsmouth, and Dayton Dunbar so far, is this true?

Jimmy,

We are currently still working on our scrimmage schedule, right now we do have Harvest Prep and Delphos Jefferson on November 15th at Piketon, and Portsmouth on November 25th at Piketon. We will travel to Lakota West (tba) and play in a 21 team scrimmage in Cincinnati prior to the SVC Preview.

Vinton County is looking for a game.
Combs vs Lisath two of the better coaches in SE OHIO
Maybe at Half time we can see Combs/Miller vs Lisath/Legg 2on 2
We will need the EMS staff handy as none are spring chickens anymore.

I'm thinking Jackson. How great would that be watching Larry Legend and Coach L going at it?

Jimmy,

This is being handled by our AD, to my understanding the contract was for two games (at Ironton 2007-08 and at Piketon 2008-09) In the event Ironton backs out, we will try for the Vinton County game, which would be another great challenge for us, they have enjoyed a lot of success and are well coached, a very solid program.
