Yes ND 8th grade (gold ) did slip past the burg ---4-3 . The DH scheduled for sunday at ND was rained out. We worked on the field for 3 plus hours in the am but it just would not dry out. Games that were rained out were ND 7th grade (blue) vs South Webster and Ironton . Hopefully we can get them made up. Was so sad to have to cancel but the overnight rains had the infield totally muddy . Now we are scrambling to do make ups right off the bat. And rain is predicted to get us tommorrow also. MD

Save your 2 dollars and bad hot dog !!!! just kiddin ' ---we are playing at mound park ----aiming for 5;30 . going to play 1 full game , then try to squeeze in a few innings of a 2nd game. MD

East played a VERY good game yesterday against S. Webster. East had the lead in the top of the 7th but when Webster came back up to bat they had a big hit to right field and that rattled up the pitcher and we had a couple of walks. A ball got by the catcher and a run scored. Struck out the next batter. Another ball got by the catcher and the winning run scored.. 4-3...

One of the bad things for East is they have 15 girls to try and get in and bat. Some of these girls have never played ball before. So it brings down our competive edge against schools like Webster who only has 11 players. But on the good note it gets the girls playing time and experience for next year because most of East's players are 7th graders so hopefully we can get some pitchers ready out of them for next year because all of our pitchers are 8th graders. These girls who haven't played before or not very much need to get involved in Little League or a travel team to get more experience over the summer. Most of the players from other schools have played for years so they have more experience than these girls do. So I hope they(7th graders) play some ball this summer other places so they will be able to be competive with other schools next year.

Yes 9-8 is correct ---8-8 after 5 complete , time was up but we had time to get one more inning in and each team got to throw a different pitcher, and try some kids in new positions. Sure was good to be on the diamond again after 3 cancellations. Thanks to the burg coaching staff for getting the girls together on short notice. Great to see so many close games being played. MD

Some teams are better that others but I glad the girls are playing hard. I'm happy we are playing local teams. I see my girls getting better and they are having fun doing so.

one thing I forgot to add ---the umps at both our 1st game and our DH at Ironton were top shelf --hats off to the guys in blue ---Flanigan (sp? ) worked our game last week in portsmouth . Umps don't get much love , so here's a "Good Job" comment to you. MD

didn't stay til the end but nd 8th (kayser) was up on SW 7-2 in the 4th or 5th. A Pauley throws hard ! had the change working also . It's really exciting to see how many good pitchers there are in this jr high league. MD
