Well OVC games are always played with more emotion and drama then non conference games, but I hope everyone moves passed what happened...I know they will.

I just wanna say goodluck to all the OVC teams in the sectionals...hopefully at least a couple of the teams will break into the districts!

Not only does the assistant get tossed he comes around the fence and wants to argue with the ump in questions son which almost escalates into a fight. This guy screams and uses bad language around these girls and there is just no sense in it. Not to mention how the head coach acted after the game.Hey, so your having a bad season, get over it, we have been there and I don't remember our coaches acting like this. I also hope the OVC teams do well in the sectionals, unless they play the Peake.

Hey Peake450, don't know if you've heard or not, the Peake plays the winner of Coal Grove and Portsmouth. I don't know when though.

Good luck to all the OVC teams!!!!!!!!

What makes the situation even worse is that when this incident was called into RH the coaches didn't exactly tell the trueth in how it all took place. These umpires have always been professional and called a fair game be it @ Chesapeake or for another school. It's a shame that the adults had to go and act that way because it was a good game and now it will be remembered as the game in which the coaches showed their true colors.

So, I am to conclude that you are one of the Umpires, since you know that the Rock Hill coaches "didn't exactly tell the truth in how it all took place". Only the umpire and the school administrator would know what was said....

My point is this...An Employee and/or Grandfather should not be umpiring an OVC contest period. You cannot tell me that other umps were not available. This is just not a good situations. I am not saying what the Coaches did were right, but the Umps should not have called the game in the first place, without the consent of the other team and maybe the other team gave them permission I don't know. Plain an simple this is unprofessional on the Coaches, Umpires, and School Administrations part.

NO You conclude wrong! but to clarify I was told first hand. Don't know what all is going on on the the Hill and don't really care but his and her and Faulks actions were totally uncalled for and they were the COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL ones on the field. As far as him umping this game it is allowed. The rule is that if his granddaughter were pitching then he could not call behind the plate. Chesapeake is not the only school that has this instance and won't be the last. In this situation the only issue was with the coach. They were ask to tell what they thought was a questionable call and could not come up with anything (because the game WAS called fairly). It was total lack of respect for everyone.

Again good luck to all the OVC teams in sectionals

Peake wins the OVC outright tonight with a win against the Pointers. Congrats to Coach Rice and the girls.

Way to go girls, great win tonite. I hope this give us some momentum heading to the playoffs. Not sure on the stats tonite, but Allie threw a great game. Lots of hard hit balls by the peake also. 6-0 score and OVC CHAMPS. Congrats to the coaches also.

Just a couple of comments and I to will wish all OVC teams good luck...

1) I don't know the Coach that was ejected and his conduct must have been unprofessional.

2) You stated "As far as him umping this game it is allowed. The rule is that if his granddaughter were pitching then he could not call behind the plate. "

What rule is this, an Ohio rule, a league rule, or a Chesapeake rule. If he is not going to call unfairly why can't he call the plate? This implies that he could not call a game fairly if he was behind the plate. My stance is that he and an employee should not call any league games period.

3) They were ask to tell what they thought was a questionable call and could not come up with anything (because the game WAS called fairly). Kind of strange that a Coach would get ejected for arguing if there was nothing wrong with the game!!!

4) Final question...How many games at Chesapeake have the Grandfather and School Employee done this year?

As far as I have been told this rule is an Ohio rule. Take it how you may. These Umpires are certified by the state not the school.
As far as how many game games Im not sure but it hasn't been all of Chesapeakes.
The whole issue with the coach started when he (they) had too many girls outside of the dugout. Then the batters in the on deck spot were ask to move back because they were moving too close to home plate. This was a safety issue. After that it all became a gripe fest or a mouth running fest.
This subject has been rode to death so dead horses should be left to lay. It was all about someone not being able to conduct themselves in a professional manor on the field when there was no real issue for them to of even had to begin with.
Again it was a shame that all of the girls had to be subjected to any of this.

CONGRATS TO THE LADY PANTHERS ON WINNING THE OVC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great game by all the Lady Panthers and wonderful job in the circle Allie. Keep it going Ladies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Panthers over Portsmouth 3-2. Same story with the panthers, good pitching and just enough runs to get by. Need to get the bats going again like the midseason games girls. Allie with 220 strikeouts on the year and a 480 batting average. Sidney with a line drive laser over the centerfield fence for her first home run. Don't know who we play next but if we can put it together we will be a tough out in the tournament.
