Big night for the Lady Spartans last night. They defeated the Wellston Lady Rockets 3-2. Great game! Wellston scored the only 2 run in the first inning with a shot off the orange part of the first base bag that was not called foul. Home plate ump didn't see what bag it hit, just seen it hit a bag and shoot up in air. oh well. The girls hit the ball well off of the Sturgill girl and we got the W. That is all that matters. Exciting game.

The Lady Spartans defeated Nelsonville last night 10-0 at Alex in 5 innings. McClain girl pitched a no hitter last night. Defence for Alex is working well. Keep up the good work ladies. I believe Alex is now 7-2 overall and 5-1 in league play.

Another win for the Lady Spartans last night over Federal Hocking 5-0. Keep up the great work ladies. 8-2 overall and 5-1 in league play. Heard thru grape vine that Meigs lost to Belpre last night so that puts Alexander and Wellston tied for 1st place in the league if this is true. Nice year for both team. Good luck to both! Meigs was not beaten last night by Belpre according to the paper. My grape vine info was wrong. Point Pleasant played Meigs last night and beat them 16-5. Sorry for the incorrect info

Lady Spartans got another league win last night over Vinton. Co. 10-4. They played well and most hit well. Travel to Eastern tonight for a non-league make up game. Keep winning ladies. Good luck!!!!!

Trimble dropped another falling to Southern 7-1 in Glouster last night taking there record from bad to worse. Southern climbs to 8-4 on the season.

STEWART - A pair of two-run innings helped Federal Hocking to a 4-2 softball victory over Eastern on Thursday. The Lancers got two runs in both the third and sixth innings.

The win puts the Lancers above .500 in league play at 4-3. They improved their overall record to 5-11. The loss dropped the Eagles to 4-2 in league play.

Brooke Hill pitched a complete game for Federal Hocking, giving up five hits, four strikeouts and no walks. Sami Cummins pitched all seven innings for Eastern, collecting three strikeouts to one walk.

Federal Hocking turned a 2-2 tie into a lead in the bottom of the sixth inning. Summer Hatfield started the inning with a double. Julie Vinson reached on an error, that also allowed Hatfield to score. Madison Ellis followed with an RBI single to stake the Lancers to a 4-2 lead.

Hatfield picked up three hits on the day - two doubles - as well as two RBIs. Allison Bond also picked up a double.

The Lancers will be back in action on Monday as they host TVC-Hocking leader Waterford.

The Lady Spartans suffered a non-league loss last night to Warren 0-5. They had several errors that hurt them. Hopefully it was just from not playing since Friday that caused this to happen. Their pitcher took a line shot to the forearm of her pitching arm but continued to pitch the rest of game. Hope all is well with her. Rebound on Thursday against Meigs in a league game that is very important. A win there will keep them in first place. I believe they will travel to Belpre on Friday night for a make-up game that was cancelled on Monday due to weather. Good luck ladies. You will make a turn around after the loss to Warren and come back strong.

Wellston survives a big scare and wins at Vinton County 10-6 in eight innings.

Vinton County almost scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh, but runner was tagged out at the plate.

Wellston stays alive and remains tied in the loss column with Alexander in the TVC-Ohio.
