red ninja, I can tell you in the last 18 seasons of Pirate baseball, I can remember quite a few HRs leaving the park at Minford. I don't believe we hit any last year there, but the year before Brandon White did and the year before that Tyler Suter did.

It doesn't really matter, like I said, the guys in this lineup can go deep anywhere.

Yes Burg had 1 HR hit at minford last season. Hopper drove a 3R shot over the CF wall to put Burg up 4-0. Burg went on to win that game 8-1.

Wamsley is on fire at the plate. This kid is hitting the ball dead center in almost every AB.

Buldog, I remembered this morning about Hopper's shot and was going to change that last post!

So, there is a HR @ Minford from a Burg player atleast the last 3 consecutive times played there. We hit 'em wherever.

Catch24, not to get off the subject, but since the past years where brought up, I recall one of the White boys hitting a bomb into the trees either in HS or Legion out at Minford, my old age is showing, but I think it was the younger one Brian, it may have been the longest shot I have ever seen a HS player hit, anyway, I do remember Suter's and Hopper's long ball too, back to the post

oldschooler, I wasn't there but I think I heard of Bryan hitting an absolute bomb out there in legion.

I've seen Bryan it some big time shots. Brandon is smaller, but he has hit his share of them too.

John Rose from VC hit a two run shot in the top of the First against Piketon. His first in his career came as the only senior on the team. Has had a couple since that should have went out but the wind was blowing in, if it wasnt blowing at all or blowing out he would have four by now.

Catch24 wrote:Wheelersburg's Pirate Field down the lines is about 310ft w/ the farthest point in LC at 345ft.
There are other fields in the area, Minford & Portsmouth that have the same farthest point while South Webster, Oak Hill (Ironton now) are shorter than the Burg.

New York's Yankee Stadium in left field is 318ft and right field being 314ft.

From time to time, there may be a HR hit that wouldn't be at other parks, but I guarantee you that most in this lineup can leave any park they play in.

I think Minford's furthest point is actually 360 ft

Yes, the furthest point is 360 ft. It is also known as "death alley" because alot of balls just seem to die when they reach that area. Gotta get some "good wood" on that ball to get it outta there.

The deepest spot in VC is 380, but down the lines it is only 300. and the wind blows out to left most of the time, except when John hit two in one game that both got blown in.

Ironton's old field was 390 to dead CF. Isn't Northwests field 400 straight away?
