Marietta @ Warren 4-9-08
Classic rivalry game, anything can happen. Hopefully the rain holds off. These teams know each other quite well. Most have played a lot of ball together over the years. Warren will likely start Josh Ward on the mound. Who will Marietta counter with? I'm looking forward to watching Evan Brockmeier, Cole Biehl and many of the other Marietta players I've been associated with over the years.

Marietta 5
Warren 4
Marietta scored twice in the top of the 7th to take a 5-4 lead, then kept Warren from scoring with a runner on 3rd and no outs in the bottom of the inning. Marietta's runs were unearned in the top half of the inning as the Warriors committed 3 errors, 2 on potential double play balls.
The Tigers opened the scoring in the 4th on a 3 run homer by Wheppler. Warren countered with 2 in the bottom of the inning. The Warriors then took a one run lead when Cory Hooper connected on a 2 run HR in the fifth.
Tyler Brooker went the distance for Marietta keeping Warren's lineup off balance throughout the night. Josh Ward pitched into the 7th for Warren and was relieved by Daniel Wagner. Marietta had one hit in the 7th.

Swamisez, there are quite a few guys that have ZERO errors for the season still.
Marietta may have had 2 hits in the top of the 7th.

actually the run that put marietta up was earned on a single to right.

I will have to disagree with you Cap'n Scoop on the above statement. I have personally witnessed 6 different players commit fielding mistakes and 6-8 different players commit baserunning and other mental mistakes during the last 2 games. Guy's, it is time to get focused and start playing the way you guys know how too. The time is now. Get-R-Done.

Re: Marietta @ Warren 4-9-08
a source tells me Warren was charged with 2 errors last night
but it probably should have been 4 as a couple plays were given hits when they shouldn't have.

Clover: 5 possibly 6 of the 11 Warriors that have started have not committed a fielding error yet this year.
Re: Marietta @ Warren 4-9-08
Cap'n Scoop,
Okay, I can agree with you on that. But, as a team the error count will have to go down as the season goes on. There will be no room for multiple error games during crunch time if you know what I mean.
Stay focused Warriors and keep those goals in front of you.

I agree completely with you on that clover, as a team Warren is making too many errors. Even in the wins over Morgan there were many errors in the infield. I don't think the outfield has made an error through 7 games.
