Ironton Cheer Tryout date set

I know of only one "winning team" in Lawrence County and many of their basketball players are playing other sports right now.

Jacksons cheer-leading tryouts are this coming Thursday. They always do it before school is out so they can go to camp in the summer and get ready for football season.

As far as Varsity, my daughter cheered 4 years at Ironton a few years ago, they always had tryouts at the end of the school year, practiced all summer and attened tumbling. I dont think we paid for the tumbling, but done fundraising for it??? Anyway, no one on the squad that I recall ever had a problem with it and it paid off in the end, with a National Championship my daughter's senior year!

South Point has already had it's try outs for next year for cheerleading and flag corp A WELL. It has always been done this was since I was in school. The cheer coach really gets the shaft at SP. she works all summer and through football season and gets paid the same amount as the golf coach who is done in a six week season. I bet she only makes 5 cents and hour!

Im sure the coach isnt in it for the pay, because they couldnt pay you enough compared to what you have to do and put up with.
